The Republicans had control for about 12 years... So as Dems get it they better step up to the plate.

Ive already given the Dems Montana(the dem candidate led going into today). The question is can the dems win in Missouri or TN? I think its possible the could pick off either one. Although I still think it will be 50/50.

For the past 140 years, the dems and republicans have swapped congress every 14 years.

Tennessee has about 60,000 votes separating the candidates with 88% reporting; Missouri, about 55,000 votes with 58%. I'm not sure if the Dems will be able to pick up either, but Virginia is likely to be called in favor of the Dems, as well as Montana. The final Senate, in that case, will be 50-50, which is really just as bad as, say, 47-53. I'm still lookin at the House pickup though and smiling big.

I am glad Lieberman won. Lamont may be attractive for partisan/antagonistic reasons but Lieberman is a better statesman.

I'm not sure of the accuracy, but they just said on MSNBC that the recount in Virginia would have to be requested after the election results are certified and that could take ten days. Soooo it might be two weeks before it's officially determined.

Last year, according to CNN, the VA Attny General race had a recount, and that lasted until Dec 22.

They should go ahead and call TN for Corker. Shelby county (Memphis) is counted and there isn't enough left in Davidson county (Nashville) for Ford to win. Plus Williamson county where all the rich country music people live is only at 77% and heavy Corker.
