"Obama phones" were a symptom of the problem of government run amok. The government also went and stuck its nose where it did not belong thanks to Bronco's backwards liberal agenda of partially socializing healthcare. As a result my premiums skyrocketed, coverage went down and my $1500 maximum deductible went to SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS. WTF!

By big government, of course, you don't mean the billions and billions that is being proposed to be spent on a border wall, and in deporting millions of 'illegal' persons, right? Which is nothing but a big government handout to certain American workers who can't compete against people who can't even speak English. Or how about the trillions that are spent on America's favorite government make-work, post-secondary education program, the military and the defense industry?
And no doubt, if you aren't living off the government, then your parents or grandparents are.

If the H1B program is eliminated, what do you suggest happens to the millions on the program. Would you suggest that they be send back to their countries? Would US return the money they paid to the US in terms of Social Security, Taxes, etc? Once they are out of the country, non-compete clauses dont apply, so they are free to take their skills and knowledge to foreign companies. What happens to the debt they owe in terms of mortgage, car loans, credit cards. Are they going to be written off?

You do realize that the last comprehensive immigration reform bill we had was passed by every Democrat in the senate and only 14 Republicans voted yes on it. Part of that Bill had requirements for e-verify and penalties.

LOL, if you're talking about HR15 then why even bother when it basically made the whole issue moot by giving legal status to most illegals here currently? You're missing the entire point that I want folks like Trump in jail for breaking the fucking law. Hell, with the approach you're touting why not just put up signs on our borders and at each point of entry saying "if you immigrate via legal means then you're an idiot." The solution to illegal immigration is (1) to greatly raise legal immigration quotas to reduce demand for illegal immigration, and (2) apply extremely severe penalties to both employer and employee if you don't immigrate via legal channels. For the 11MM here or whatever if you're going to let them stay then you need to extract a very large fine (like a year's wages large) and prevent citizenship for 3-4 times the length of time you were here illegally plus like I said actual jail time for the assholes that employed illegals as the modern day plantation owners.

Now why would a wall work?

If you change the incentives by raising immigration quotas to make that route more appealing and realistic and hugely increase the disincentives for illegal immigration by jailing both sides of the employment relationship, then a wall would be unneeded. We want immigrants to come, we want those immigrants to follow the law coming here, we want to punish those who broke the law to set an example and reaffirm the rule of law, and we want to stop the recurrence of the problem in the future by punishing severely those who break the laws and those who abet them. None of these are contradictory.
