I didn't feel it, but the person in the office next to mine sent me an IM asking if I felt the earthquake...and we are all the way over in Phoenix.

My office is right next to John Wayne airport and I felt it for about 5 sec or so. So did my colleague, although my wife (who works in Newport Beach) didn't feel it.

Felt in San Diego too. The whole office building swayed back and forth for a while. It seemed to have last pretty long.

There's a 4.9 aftershock too.

I bet the people in Calexico and El Centro felt it pretty good though.

felt it in Chula Vista. which is pretty close to Baja. Didn't seem very strong at all though. I'm surprised people in OC felt it.

well, it did just kinda feel like a fat guy jumping on the other side of the building. if my monitors didnt move, i wouldnt have noticed it.

I beg to differ, when it comes to big destructive earthquakes, 5.9 on the Richter scale is pretty small. And for those that root for a non destructive earthquake, a large number of small earth quakes in the form of aftershocks, is far less destructive than one larger earthquake.

But Baja California is an opening rift valley that will continue to produce Earthquakes for millions of years into the future. And sooner or later the bulk of the West Coast of the State of California will part ways with the rest of the State.
