the earth's core is increasing in temp.
wrong, it's global warming.
the earth's core is increasing in temp.
I felt this one in Concord. Our whole office building started jostling side to side.
Nope LA just moved an inch or 2 closer to SF.
didn't feel anything Berkeley. ...also have no experience with earthquakes and so I'm still not sure what to expect. I think this would be the 3rd tremor? since I've been here?
I was also likely driving around at that time this morning...
I think living along the Hayward fault and so maybe with the geography makes Berkeley very immune to Calaveras fault quakes.
In 2007, I was sitting in a meeting in a club when that 5.4er struck. The cell phone lines were clogged. My mom called and emailed me like she freaked out. The epicenter is about where it was today. If I felt the 4.1 today so easily in SJ, the 5.4 must be far stronger.
Yet in Berkeley I didn't feel a thing in 2007. In fact very few, if any, of my friends in Berkeley felt much.
On the other hand, those Hayward fault quakes? Yeah I felt them in Berkeley. My parents in San Jose would never feel those though.
Edit: Even today many of my friends in SF didn't feel anything. The ones who did were in high rise buildings and I suppose it ripples through structures so you do feel it up higher.
and from what I've heard...the Hayward is generally accepted as the most likely source for the next Big One, yeah?
