Can't make calls.

Am I usually the one who usulal ymakes this thread?

I'm surprised I didnt feel this one but I got plenty of IMs about it... That's how I found out (about 4 min after).

Edit: I've been trying since 8:15, and I finally got a call out.

Every time there is an earthquake I jump on usgs.gov and can never find the damn recent earthquake link.

5.6 preliminary in Alum Rock San Jose 5.7 miles down.

Was bad enough for my mage to die while I was playing WOW cause I had to keep my eye on the door.

I'm on verizon and I can't make any calls out either. This is the longest one I've felt so far. Damn, a 5.6. I'm right next to it too in Milpitas.

Damage report:

1 broken glass, and it was my own fault. (I opened the glass case, and didn't notice the glass was knocked over)

1 VHS cassete fell on the floor

Felt this one for about 20 seconds... It was a rolling one. I'm in Berkeley, FYI. Parents in San Jose said that it was pretty scary, biggest one they remember since 1989. They went under the table. 5.6 is nothing to sneer at, but I doubt there will be any damage.

Cell networks are jammed. Mass panic will ensue for another couple of minutes.

I'm just pissed off because I was in Lab, and now my circuit doesn't work anymore. Probably unrelated to the quake.

in before dmccowen brags that his prediction was right, even though it's not a 7.0 or anywhere near within 20 days of his prediction.

Oh, I predict he will also make some completely inaccurate generalization about the people of ATOT because we doubted him. It may be related to the fact that we all like to eat babies and kick old ladies down stairs.

KRON 4 and the other news stations have some coverage going, but nothing super significant being said.

Unless the epicenter was a lot closer to them. The vendors though would feel it before the fans and players would notice.

Actually we had a under 5.0 earthquake near Berkeley once during the Arizona vs Cal bball game. I was working concessions and it was damn loud. The entire arena echoed Oooooooohhh. The game was paused for a few seconds and then they resumed.

Yup, felt it in my Union City apartment. Some stuff rattled around, the dog got scared. But nothing fell down and no damage of any kind. It was very short compared to some.
