Trying to get a hold of my sister now in Rancho Cucamonga about 10 mins from Chino Hills, and it seems like the phone lines are down. My other sister that lives in Canyon Lakes was pretty amazed I called her like 10 mins after the quake. I'm up here in Alaska.

We were about to start a deposition in downtown LA (on the 10th floor). One of the lawyers was freaking out.

She has calmed down now and we finally got the depo going.

I sure hope my LCD TV is OK.

Where is it centered really? I totally missed the 6.1 that hit San Jose last year only cuz I was 60 miles away. The only indication I had was when a few ppl got up to go outside to make calls that evening and didnt return for a while cuz the lines were jammed. I had outlook open and I got an email from my mom asking if I was ok since she was a lot closer to the epicenter than I was.

that was pretty good, living in So Cal I know I'll probably see an actual big one - bigger than Northridge even (was around for that) I don't so much mind ones like today, but thinking about one that's much stronger and lasts a few minutes doesn't sound all that good. This mini shaker made me realize I should probably go get an Earthquake kit so if the big one hits I have some water, a bit of food and some meds. a 2 minute long 7.0 won't be something I sit threw and smile at like today's jolt

Anyone else in So Cal here thinking the same about not being prepaired? I just looked around and I have NOTHING, if that had been big enough to trap me I don't know how long I'd last in this heat lol.

I agree it felt long, but when its an earthquake sometimes they just feel like they never stop.
