Felt it pretty good here in El Monte, the train does pass about 10ft away from out building so at first we thought it was a train, but when the building started to sway a little bit we knew it was an earth quake. Can't really tell if aftershocks are aftershocks or not because of the trains

I am in South Orange County. The Data Center here road through fine. That is why I tell people to lock the server back into the rack when you are done with it. Also seismic bolts are a good thing in S. Cal. Never did see a loss of service on my Sprint BB. Fairly good jolt it was right the middle of the LAN meeting and we were discussing DR.

The chick from Caltech is on now she says ALL earthquakes of this size etc are a 5% chance of being a foreshock to a bigger quake, after 24 hours it drops to 1%.

Cool, I live there too..kind of interesting just because I don't imagine too many techy people in this area =P..but towards the freeways so no trains...but we had construction some time ago and that kept shaking our house. Thought someone was pounding the ground again at first -_-

I was in bed while it happened. Didn't even get up. Wasn't big enough to warrant getting up. I'm here in Whittier, not too far from where it happened so I could feel it but could tell it wasn't that big but it did last for a good while. All I know is that T-mobile sucks. Couldn't get through to anybody to give them a call or text. I guess everything was busy.

The first earthquake I've ever experienced. It sounded like the noise when you have 3-4 people on the floor above you in the dorm running.

Kinda freaky as there are pots and boxes filled with paper work stacked up to the side of me.
