Psshhhhh........5.4? That's not a quake!! That's nothin' more than a fart!!

Glad it's you guys, I've had my fill of them. Loma Prieta (6.9) in 1989. Guam (7.8) in 1993. And Adak (Aleutian Island, 7.7 with a 7.2 aftershock the next morning) in 1996. The one in Guam was the worst, imho.......a full minute long, that sucker made me wonder if we were seeing the start of Armegeddon!!

We were about to start a deposition in downtown LA (on the 10th floor). One of the lawyers was freaking out.

She has calmed down now and we finally got the depo going.

I sure hope my LCD TV is OK.

I'm here in the Paul Hastings building 20th floor - been through alot of earthquakes that don't really bother me, but it's a whole different kind of scary way up here with the glass windows shaking.

I had never been in a tall building for an earthquake before. I could feel the building roll on the rollers - Coooool!!!

It totally freaked out the other lawyer. ("Will it ever stop rolling?!?")

I am getting more worried about my LCD TV.

Update: All my TVs and monitors were fine. No damage or even evidence of an earthquake at all at my house.

Actually, we're rock solid here in Texas

actually, we're not, and that's why we don't have earthquakes.

My dad lives in La Habra Heights, about ten miles from the epicenter. Haven't spoken with him yet but I bet he had a mess to clean up. (At least in his pants, his house is on a very steep hillside.)

AT, faster than CNN!

Seriously, why don't we start a collaborative AT news site?

Actually AT is not only faster than CNN vut also faster than the e-mail I get from the Earthquake sites.

I have it set to send automatic e-mail notification of anything greater than 3.0.

The e-mail came a good 20 minutes after the first posts on AT.

Anybody else feel the 3.0 a few minutes ago??

(9:37pm PST to be exact)

It took a few minutes to show up on the usgs site, but I heard the house creak & even though I didn't feel anything, I knew what it was.
