I checked an option in easustodo that like most other backups, will give you an option to load the disaster recovery or continue to boot into windows.....well with this POS app, it loads a GRUB help screen telling me info about using active disk kill to wipe my drive, use gparted to partition....etc.

It will not let me boot windows. It will not exit, only goto grub command line ....I put in my windows 7 disk but there is no repair option, only goes to disk drive screen to reinstall

I made a backup initially using Easustodo but can't figure out how to restore it.

What do I do besides panic and drink booze?

Use some other computer and install Easeus Todo on it. Put your drive that will not boot in the second computer and run the restore of your backup.

I've used Easeus Todo for over a year without problems.

BTW, It is probably best to stay sober and have a clean mind before proceeding. Good luck.

well it seemed to have messed up my boot sector.
I loaded up Ubuntu live. had a look and i see a lot of boot type files on my D drive for some reason. i erased them and then i got the boot sector error.

i don't have another computer. so i gave up and reformatted. this will make my 3rd install of BF3 from Origin and they have limited activations...nice. i was able to copy my Skyrim saves...but now the game loads weird, getting flashing red screens for some 5 minutes then the game is fine? wtf.

I should have used Acronis, so its my own fault for trying to be cheap. you get what you pay for.

I am considering the software & I found little info on it. Still good for you? Ever had to restore?
I'm specifically nervous about my Dell laptop having hiden/OEM partitions that I heard can cause trouble w-some image restores...

There are no activation limits on BF3. It requires Origin, so as long as you can log into the Origin account that you used your activation code on you are good to go. Install/Activation limits was something that happened earlier on but EA removed it. I've definitely shattered the three install limit on many games.

"Origin guarantees download availability forever after purchase,[5] and there is no limit to the number of times a game can be downloaded."
