What he doesn't explain in the video though is why using anti-angiogenesis treatments doesn't put you at risk of all the diseases that result from insufficient angiogenesis. It was an interesting talk, but very high level (look, anti-angiogenesis treatment cures obesity!).
I thought he covered that. Its been a while since I was in school, but he made a key point that vessels constructed to feed cancers were not as robust and it is true. They are hastily constructed vessels that are very weak and I don't believe even fully complete because they are also very leaky. So if you could shock the weak ones into collapsing, whereas normal vessels wouldn't feel the pinch, then it would easily make sense why your body doesn't get messed up.
Think of it like an earthquake that is small enough to destroy poorly constructed buildings without enough support, but pose no real threat to properly built structures. That is how I would imagine it.
