Sux that they only gave like 1 hours notice. I hate eBay in so many ways. Hope they do this again next month though, I got tons of crap to sell, er, I mean, lots of wonderful items just looking for someone who deserves them more than I. eBaysoft? microbay? these guys get more and more alike everyday.

Does that mean that you can list an item at a higher price and still not get charged? Like if you start the bidding at $3000, there is no insertion fee?

D'oh I just put something on Ebay last night. Yeah as long as you aren't a proffessional seller than it's free no matter how much. However if it's $3000 they still jack a good percent of your ending bid :|

xfreebie, I've been an ebayer for 3 yrs. If it doesn't sell the first time, then when u relist it, and if it sells, they won't charge you the 2nd relisting. If it doesn't sell, you're gonna get charged the 2nd time for relisting it

Does this mean you can get a seller's account without having to pay the $5 fee?????

Anyone notice that the past couple of days that everytime you list something on eBay that it subtracts the listing fees from your account balance instead of adding them. I am sure that this is either a programming mistake that will be corrected shortly or some hacker is protesting eBay's new fee structure. Either way it is pretty funny. I guess you could print out your account history and dspute if they try to charge you the listing fees later. Check it out

Maybe they're just feeling guilty about all the money they're making, or about their upcoming outrageous increases, and giving some of it back to its previous owners I stopped Ebaying so I haven't seen this happen, but I don't think you would be able to dispute a valid fee, if they fix the problem within a reasonable time, which I am sure they will...you agree to pay the fee when listing the item

I guess they were forced to increase fees seeing as they just released their quarterly results and have made more of a profit than expected.

now let me re-read this and get this straight...
you're saying if they charged you 30 cents for listing one item,
it should be a (+) 30 cents, not (-)30 cents???
Don't you owe them? so it would be a (-) then..

and when you have a credit card automatically set to pay Ebay
then you would be paying Ebay, or in other words (+) adding funds to your ebay account to cover the fees you owe.
And so deductions would be (-)

Hence, there's nothing wrong with the ebay statements.

What's angers me even more is when eBay informs me that Dec. 20 is a free listing day on Dec 23, as happened in this instance. :|
