got an email from the paypal refund:
"Message from merchant:
Sorry to inconvenience you. I found a problem with the mini player did not feel right going through with the sale. Sorry Again."

disputes are for pid item that dont arrive, or arrives with an issue. i know paypal and ebay are one and the same, but its confusing wen it comes to diputing.
he has zero feedback so maybe he thinks he can get away with it? what do i do with this guy?

maybe he was selling a broken item and then wussed out at the last minute?

if he refunded your money... cut your losses (which are none) and go find something else to buy

Would you rather have got a defective item?
The seller is out the listing fee. Move on with your life.

Exactly what is it that the seller "thinks he can get away with"?

Yeah, how are you losing anything here? Maybe he really did find out it was broken, maybe he didn't, but either way you didn't lose anything other than a few minutes of your time. Deal with it and move on with your life.

if you have your money then you've lost nothing except the few minutes you spent bidding. move on.

Can't people cancel the auction at the last minute also?

no, you cannot cancel an auction in the last 24 hours.

to clarify, the auction ended normally... and i won. i got a really good deal (most likely because he is a new member with no feedback, so what does he care to start over).

i want th item, and if it has an unbearable defect then i can always send it back... so is he allowed to just not send the item?

You can go after him him with paypal and ebay. They will make him send the item. Friend had this happen to them and finally got the item after about a month but he said it was worth it.

Couple of questions that come to mind.
1) Was it really that good of a deal?
2) Would you want to risk paying for shipping both ways, if it was defective.

Thats why I don't waste my time bidding on items from people with no feedback, I'll let other people take that risk.

If a item is defective it is the responsibility of the company or person selling the item to pay for return shipping.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking.

You wouldn't pay for anything then though.

Tell him you look forward to seeing the item re-listed as broken, and you'll withhold your negative feedback until you have an opportunity to bid on the broken item.

He deserves negative feedback whether it's broken or not.

eBay claims it's a legal, binding agreement. You can go ahead and contact the member about it...tell him your uncle fixes stuff like that or something...then press him to ship.

If a item is defective it is the responsibility of the company or person selling the item to pay for return shipping.
Normally, but this would be the exception, since the seller is telling the buyer it's defective before the item is shipped.

The buyer thinks the seller is only using that as an excuse to back out of the deal.
So it he tells the seller to ship even after being warned the item is defective.
I would say the buyer would be responsible for the return shipping if it turned out the item was actually broken.

I would say the buyer would have to keep it if the seller told the buyer it was broken and the buyer wanted it anyway

That would be sweet.
The buyer gets the item after being told it's defective...
The buyer posts a thread in here asking... "What can I do, I was sent a defective item?"
