Here's the deal:

EBgames is doing a trade-in promotion for Zelda: Wind Waker for Gamecube. Trade in any 3 used games for the Xbox, PS2, or Gamecube and you get Zelda: Wind Waker for FREE! This is pretty hot because I bought a couple of the recent Target closeout games for $9.99 and went in to EBgames and traded them in for Zelda. So you can potentially get this game for $30 if you trade in (3) $9.99 games!!

Update: I traded in NBA Starting Five for PS2, Frogger for PS2 and Blade II for Xbox. Those were all brought for $9.99 either from Target closeouts or Best Buy.

last time my friend wanted to trade in 3 PS2 gamez for xenosaga for free... but he got denied because the titles were "too old".... ebgames is very picky about the titles traded.... lots of restrictions from my past experience

Blockbuster is doing a 'Buy 2, Get 1 Free' offer on used video games. If you pick up a few cheap ones, you can get Zelda for about $20. I think this qualifies as flaming hot!

Common sense can be an excellent guide here. The exculded games typically have a new selling price of $20 or under. There are a lot (450 out of 720 on the PS2) of titles that are perfectly fine for all of the trade-in promotions at EB.

Common exclusions (I work there)
--------------------------------------------
-All Greatest Hits titles - Duh
-All 2001, 2002 sports games
-Certain 2003 sports games - NCAA Football 2k3 is a good example as it is horrible
-All launch titles
-Most titles produced prior to 2000
-ALL games without box AND instructions AND cover

Best thing to do is call your local EB and rattle off the titles you want to trade in. They can and will be happy to tell you if your games are excluded or not.

Just keep in mind, it's not the kid at the counter's decision whether or not to take you games. Don't take it out on him. All trade-in values and POX statuses are set by the corp. office in the nightly downloads.

I believe that stores don't accept previously rented games. If I'm wrong, someone please correct me.

EB will accept Blockbuster games. To be safe, write down what your BB has in and see which games EB will accept for the promo.

Make sure the games you get have box AND instructions, some BBs don't keep the ins. with the games.

If the items to trade at EB scan and get a hit on their SKU, they will take the stuff. This is for all of EB's trade in deals.

okay its isn't free. Its cheaper. 20 bucks cheaper. Too bad I preordered mine be here wednesday I think. hmm is eb giving the free bonus discs in store? If so I'll try to cancel online order and go to blockbuster to find some cheap titles to trade in.

ive called in lots of games and they all were rejected. Turok, 007, legends of wrestling, 18wheeler. The only "cheaper" games i could find that qualified was eternal darkness ($15) and monkeyball ($20). I still have to find a 3rd game to make the deal work for me.

This is about as untrue as it gets. I traded in 3 games yesterday. Madden 2003, NBA Starting Five (PS2), and Tiger Woods 2003. The latter 2 I picked up for under $20 at Target, so that made it worth it. TONS of GC games are excluded, since the GC versions of 3rd party games often sell for $10-$20 less. You'd have better luck looking trading in low cost games for either the PS2 or Xbox.
