Strange problem that I'm pretty sure is being caused by the mobo.
Board in question is paired with a Pentium G860 and 4GB DDR3 1333. When the PC boots and when it's running Windows, it's incredibly snappy and stable, but when I go to shut down or sleep, the monitor signal cuts out as normal but the drives, fans, and LAN connection remain active. The PC will not resume from sleep and I must hold the power button down or unplug it to get it to reboot from either state.
It also takes quite some time on a regular restart. Windows will shut down in about 4 seconds, then the screen goes blank, and about 20 seconds later the fans finally turn off and the machine reboots.
I've tried this with fully updated and bone-stock Vista Ultimate and W7 HP x64. Really at a loss here as this was supposed to be a gift system for Christmas. BIOS is up to date. It also hangs after applying changes from BIOS before rebooting.
I should also add it fails to shut down from safe mode in the same fashion.
Thanks for any input!
