I was one of the lucky ones at AMD's XP giveaway event in Philly and with the new chip in hand I popped out the 1Ghz Athlon 266 chip in my ECS board and dropped in the Athlon XP 1800+ and suprisingly all seems to be running fine with just a 300W Sparkle PS Temps seem to be the same too, around 39C idle, 43C under load using an Alpha PAL6035 & Sanyo Denki fan. Quake3 and 3dMark benches remained about the same, probably my video card holding things back (Geforce2MX), but the trueSpace benchmark really took off, went from around 50 fps to 96fps :Q I figure it's a SSE friendly app or something Here's some Sisoft Sandra benchmarks:

The ECS board has definitely been the best bang for the buck so far compared to other mb's I've used.
