As a test case I have purchased this MOBO from New EGG just to see how cheap I could go. I already had Duron 750 CPU.

So far I have tested the following OSes; Windows ME, Windows 2000 ( all three) and Windows XP. Everything works. I have also tested RedHat Linux 7.1, built-in LAN card doesn't work. Everything else works just fine. I kep the PC running for three days.

I thing ECS K7S5A is best inexpensive motherboard.

I bought the outpost.com deal with the 950 duron for $99.

Windows 98se. Swapped the mobo and cpu and left everything else in the case and hooked it up. Fired it up and everything went without a glitch. Ran 3dmark 2000 and 2001. Got slightly better scores than the Tyan Trinity 400 and PIII 800 that had been in there.

Excellent value.

I am a huge fan of this little board....
Many people complains about it but this board has the best performance/upgrade/price ratio ever..

Seemed pretty big to me!

Glad to here that they may have improved their QC. I am tempted to try again.

I agree, this little motherboard is great. I picked mine up at Newegg and built a 1.0 ghz duron system for my son. Fired it up and it worked like a champ the first time. Its pretty much been on, non stop, for over a month without a problem. I run SETIatHome on it to keep it productive. The built in LAN works great with my shared broadband and the sound is adequate for my boy's games....

I am running this board on two of my machines both with 1.33 GHz Athlon-C's. The board has worked flawless. I picked up the processors and boards as a package at a local store for $150 each.
