unfortunately his career has taken a huge nose dive and is directed totally towards kids now. For such a funny and filthy guy, I wish he hadn't grown up Now he's all kid friendly, damnit to hell.

Harlem Nights is a good filthy Eddie Murphy movie to watch.

Which is the one that was copied and passed around my school about 1,000,000 times when I was a kid. I think I could almost recite the whole thing from memory.

Sometimes I forget how old I am. (29 in September) I forget that there are kids out there who haven't even seen some of the things that I take for granted...the things that defined my childhood. When I was young, in the 80's, older people would tell me about all this great stuff that happened in the 70's, and I wasn't interested. Now, I'm the older person talking about the great 80's stuff. Very weird.

Anyway, if you haven't seen Eddie Murphy's stand up, do yourself a favor and rent them. Have some friends over this weekend, and rent Delirious and Raw. You will laugh your a$$es off. Most of the one-liners and funny sayings when I was in high school came from these stand up shows. That was when Eddie was peaking. At the beginning of Raw, you see him walking backstage with his posse. He was like a rock star. He's maintained some of his popularity, but he's a shadow of his former self. When I think of Eddie Murphy, I think of his stand up days, when Beverly Hills Cop was his big movie.

Warning: Be careful if you have strict parents. This is NOT something you want to watch with your parents around. Maybe that's why we liked it so much, because it was the first stand up to be so dirty. His bit on Ralph Cramden and Ed Norton from the Honeymooners getting it on will bring tears to your eyes.
