I believe this test was done using the Creators Spring update, which was a big improvement for Microsoft Edge over the previous Anniversary update in terms of security. The Creators fall update improves security even more, and adds some nice performance features as well.
No idea why more people aren't using Edge. It really is a great browser, and much better than Chrome in my experience.
