You can call the 1800 number and talk to the customer service rep for wireless phones. They told me that even if it is sent out after the 31st, they should honor the rebate. The only rebate that amazon cannot guarantee is the tmobile $50 rebate.

i just got a confirmation that my phone shipped. I bought it the day before the rebate ended, i think the 15th of September. Anyone else get confirmations?

I got my confirmation email that it was shipped last friday 10/4. And I checked the tracking, it has already reached NJ from Texas. It's looking good.


Thankfully, I'm not in a bad need of a phone. This is my first one.

I got major news. I've had my t68i with TMobile for a week now and I've been trying to get WAP services to work. I talked numerous times to Amazon.com, TMobile, and Sony Ericcson. Apparently, there were an estimated amount of 250 batch of defective phones that Amazon.com got from Sony Ericcson that cannot work with WAP services. In any cases, according to Amazon, all the phones they have are defective. Just to check, but it's most likely defective - go to your WAP services, and on the top it should say Mobile Internet. If it doesn't, yours is defective, same as mine.

According to Amazon and TMobile - they are currently trying to ressolve the known problem, which they found out 10 days ago from today.

Options:
1. Return it as defective item, cancel your TMobile service, and they'll stick you with the $35 still and the service amount you used.
2. Send the item to Sony Ericcson to get the right OS to be in the phone.....my brother is taking this chance, and maybe I will too. Getting the rebate, but further complicating things with TMobile.

I think they are trying to downplay this problem since not many will activate WAP services immediately.

Tell me what you guys are going to do.
Amazon suggested to find a direct dealer for TMObile that has the flash box to reinstall the newest software.
And then fax the price it costs to do it to amazon for the refund. My problem is that I can't find any dealer who can do this. According to the tech rep in Amazon, named Daniel, he had one guy that was able to do it and another that couldn't.

And please add on more info about what you discuss with TMobile and Amazon. Sony Ericcson doesn't have a clue, yet they are the spark that began this problem.

I don't know if "defective" is the right word to use. If they were loaded with the wrong firmware, then its a problem which is easily fixed. It might be inconvenient if you can't get to a service center easily, though.

I got my T68i from Amazon last week, and I am absolutely lovin' it. I picked up a cheapie Bluetooth dongle from Fry's, and sync'ed it right up with my Outlook XP calendar / contact list. I didn't get that GPRS data option on my 3000 anytime minutes plan, but it's awesome that the basic modem feature works.

No complaints with the service so far. On campus (CSULB), service is about what I had with Sprint - maybe slightly worse when walking between large buildings. In metro areas and freeways here in Southern California - I almost always get a full signal. At my home, I'm getting a much better signal than with Sprint. Where Sprint was either zero or one "bar", I can often get nearly a full signal with T-Mobile. Of course... YMMV.

It's so nice not to have to worry about minutes anymore. With their $50 "3000 anytime minutes" plan, I get over 1.5 hours of anytime minutes PER DAY. And I'm saving $10 per month over what I used to pay for my old Sprint cell + landline. W00t...!

also, what is everyone doing with the $50 tmobile rebate. Amazon listed it with the t68i, but i guess it is only for t68 as the numbers from the phone dont match what is on the form.

I did my $50 rebate already. The tmobile rep told me to wipe out those prefilled boxes because they had sent out more than they had originally planned. They also told me to circle on the packing slip the phone model, the date ordered, and the service plan.
That was it.
