The rebate expires September 16th. I have a feeling that Amazon won't ship until later... thus not enabling you to receive the rebate.

Says on the rebate, as long as you order the phone before September 16 2002 (order date), even they shipped it later, they will still honor it.

here is another way of getting the phone cheap.

Went to good guys in foothill ranch.

Current Deal = 50 instant rebate (min phone cost of 39.99) plus 50 dollar rebate from good guys.

cost of t68i... 199 -50 (inst reb) - 50 (mail reb) = 100.00 +tax

another side deal was if you were to get the v60, they throw in another 50 dollar rebate (199 - 50 - 50 - 50 = 50.00 +tax)

Whats the difference between the T68i and the T68m?

T68i has MMS, caller photo ID, screen saver and some cosmetic differences, etc.... while T68m don't. And T68i response is faster. However, you can have someone flash the T68i firmware to the T68m then both will operate the same except the look.

T68i/m does have weaker RF comparing with V60g, but it has tones of features plus the color screen is nice. For $50 AR is a steal, but if you are in S. Cal. you should be getting the deal like bong316 without worry about rebates.

For me I want to keep the same number so I am stucked to pay $300 for it.

Cool. This the phone I want. I already have Voicestream in Chicago. The service here is awesome. You have to sign up for a new account so I guess I will have to downgrade my current plan to bare minimum and set up call forwarding to my new number.

Bong,

What is the name of the store where you purchased your T68i phone? I'm trying to find a Chinese store, but haven't had any luck.

Thanks

Anybody know if I get two t68i's from Amazon with Family plan can I get rebates for both of the phones? The rebate form does not say otherwise, but I am wondering if anyone had such an experience.

Some comments and questions:

--I called TMobile and the T68i is set to launch Oct 1, so I doubt anyone will get it before then.
--The $50 rebate on the Amazon website is for the T68 not the T68i- anyone think that matters?
--TMobile is relaunching their web services Oct 1 so there might be some promotions then.
--Other models being launched Oct 1 are the Ericcson T300 and Sidekick; the Nokia 7210 is also on the horizon, along with new entries from Motorola and??.

So I think that waiting a couple of weeks might be good, to see what new deals they offer.

Second, does anyone know which of the models listed above (or any about to come out) would be the best?

This is for a customer whose company is paying, but still wants a deal, and travels internationally and wants a tri-band phone with all the latest features (web access) so it won't be obsolete in 2 months. (in phone camera not needed). Prefers to sync to Outlook contacts but has no current bluetooth connections. Wants small and stylish but packed full of features. Right now, I think the T68i is the one, but I really am a novice in this area. You can PM me.

Thanks

I just purchased the T68mi phone at a Chinese TMobile store in San Francisco. It's the T68m style phone, but flased with the T68i software. I'm not sure of the store's address, but it's on the corner of 19th and Lincoln Ave.... right next to the Starbucks there. I paid $150 after tax... out the door. It seems like the best deal around in the Bay Area. I will try to find the name of the store and the phone number.

Yep, Nextel has this great walkie-talkie function.

Problem is, that's all that's great about it. Most everyone who has Nextel says it's a great walkie-talkie, but a terrible mobile phone.

Nextels are great for the person who owns one, but really annoying for anyone nearby, not only do you get to hear both sides of the conversation, but you get to hear that awful beeping too.

Wow, this sounds like a good deal for 33.99, I think I'm gonna go for this, but I got 3 Questions:

- I can't seem to find the $10 Coupon and the $6.00 eBates Coupon on the site
- Also, since Amazon says "first come first serve" and I'm assuming you activate service w/ Amazon, does the service
start right after you order it, or after you get your phone, cuz, it's gonna suck to have to pay for 1 - 2 months of service
while you wait for the phone
- Anybody know how the T-Mobile service is up in the Bay Area
- Lastly, anybody know of any Chinatown stores w/ T68i for $30 - $40?

Sorry guys, this is my first posting and my first time doing all this rebate stuff and in general is it cool or do companies try to find loopholes to jack you (esp Amazon/T-Mobie), tnks in advance

I've had Voicestream (T-mobile) service for 1 year and their signal is terrible in NYC. I get dropped calls and no signal in any building! This was about a year ago and hopefully things are better because T68i looks sweet.

Hey vegetation,
But the rebate forms "Rebate requests must be postmarked before 10/31/2002". How is that possibly valid if I might not be getting mine until early november and not my first bill until month later?

I'm starting to doubt my decision to buy this.
