EDIT:Powmax vs Raidmax vs Antec

I was thinking about jumping on the deal from Dealsonic for the Skyhawk Aluminum case for $59- $15 coupon. I was wondering if the following power supplies were any good.
PowMax 500W - $52
RaidMax Aluminum 400W-$52
Antec SL450-$59

Will be running a AMD 2100 XP, 3 hard drives, & CDRW. I do video editing with a Matrox RT2000. Would either of these be sufficient?

I have a Raidmax 320wPS and have had absolutely no trouble with it, seems to be very good quality. However the stock fans were crap and noisy, so I replaced them with panaflows. It's now whisper quiet.

I've never had an Antec, but from what I've read they seem to be good quality also. Hope this helps.

I think the antec is better. Granted that I haven't looked at the specs for these particular PUS, I usually find that antec PSU are much better quality, i.e. their power output is much close to the given rating.

I dont trust the radimax's. They are light and cheap. $65 for a 400w psu just seems bad.

fyi - go to staples and use 20 off 75 coupon to get True430 (430W) for $65... after a pm to newegg.com @ $85. Or just used 30 off 100 coupon to get it for $70 w/o PM.

How do y'all compare to the SL450? That is a good price for the SL450... where is that from?

Tom's Hardware Guide (I don't even know why I read it anymore, maybe just to remind me of the lunacies of humanity) just reviewed a bunch of PSUs. A decent, but by no means thorough test, and it didn't include some of the larger brands, but still not too bad of a read, especially for how non-technical the site has become.

Antec and PC power & cooling power supplies are the only 2 I use. That sounds like an excellent deal on the Antec PSU, I recommend that one. Just my 2 cents.

Where did you get the coupon for Dealsonic? Their prices seem good, and the case looks sharp.
