I mean no offence by this but why made you think it was gone?

you don't know what it's like, you cannot understand how it feels to be the subject.

i work at an elementary school. there was a christmas song show-thing this morning, with all the kids and the parents. i was standing in the back, when in between two of the classes a really cool teacher i'm friends with (all of them, really) came around to say hi to me. we were talking for a little bit when she pulled a few silver dollars out of her pocket and said, "look what i kiked." then, she immediately followed that by semi-repeating herself, saying "look what i confiscated." then she had to go to get her class ready to go on. she may have said something else, but i cannot think of anything else she would have said that would have sounded like "kiked," and still mean the same thing. i'm not going to bring it up with the principal, but i would like to talk to her about it, at least to clarify what she said. thoughts?
edit from the link adul posted, i now fully believe she said "kiped." i'm embarrassed to think she would have said "kiked," but now i know better and can laugh it off.
however, to all that accused me of being too "pc," i am *probably* safe in assuming that you are all white middle class males of christian descent (though whether or not you actually practice a religion now isn't relevant) therefore, you have been insulated for at least the past 50 years from being the target of any form of bigotry. you don't know what it's like, you cannot understand how it feels to be the subject. if she had actually said "kiked," the worst thing i could have done would be to let it go. words are not just words, they are opinions and feelings and in some cases, prejudices that if left unchecked can become worse, and passed down generation to generation. i'll grow a backbone when you grow a conscience.

Skoorb, you are correct on that. Unfortunately, people think its A-Ok to say the word Gypped. Too bad not all minorities enjoy the luxury of having a strong lobby and power in our media.

think the issue is: Why is the teacher stealing money from elementary school students?

um yea, well 2/4 ain't bad, but i'm yellow and atheist. what are you?
you're too sensitive and it isn't because you're a "victim". puh-lease, you don't know what racism means if you consider this to be racism. racism is having people call you at 4AM screaming at you to "go back to your country". racism is being told to sit at the back of the bus because you're the wrong color. racism is not somebody using a term in common speech in a manner that was not intended to deride anyone.
All three of these groups lack real political/media power.
I am really slow, and I ride the short bus, so could you rephrase that last rant for me?Originally posted by: Moonbeam
I can't wait for the day, after hundreds of thousands of racial apologists get their heads blown off and the anti PC community starts chanting, geez guys, they're just a bunch of dead racists, don't get your panties in a wad over it.
