I'm starting to get annoyed with this season.

It's much to soap opera for me. I want more walkers! I'm sick of the finding Sophia marathon, the love triangle between the cops, and whether two kids have sex or not. WTF I WANT ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE NOT "THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS - ZOMBIE EDITION"

Finally some stuff happens. Hopefully the next episode will have some real action.

Why was the retarded walker biting Daryl's shoe?

Also, Shane mentioned that if they hadn't stopped they'd be halfway to Fort Benning by now.... Fort Benning is less than 2 hours from Atlanta. They could have walked there by now. And they drove for a while. So they can't possibly be that far from Fort Benning.

And if they dropped napalm on the streets of Atlanta why wasnt there any fire damage when Rick was roaming the city on his horse last season.

Everything was fine, cars, buildings, trees. No fire damage. No sign of military ordnance going off anywhere

That dumb bitch. Wow.

She's stuck her gun in Rick's face twice, and now she's shot Daryl. Next weeks promo, Shane is still teaching her to shoot.

I wouldn't trust her with kid's scissors.

On the plus side they finally revealed what's in the barn, there were several good lines in the episode, and I thought Glenn and Maggie being at the kids table was hilarious.

AMC did this with Breaking Bad. First half of the season was slow, then it started to heat up, then exploded in the finale.

Seriously. How in the hell are you going to shoot at a supposed walker when the group was standing right next to it, weapons drawn, and didn't attack it. Let me show my l33t shooting skillz pewpew!!!1!1!!

I'm not sure which mistake you're taking away from it... the fact that the gang going out there stopped, and that was a sign, or the fact that she attempted to make a shot with her friends standing a few feet away. The latter really stood out to me... especially since the idiot barely has any gun training. That looked like a 22 caliber rifle, and a decent distance (say 100 yards)... I wouldn't be surprised that she had an effective foot or two of sway in her incredibly untrained state.

When I was younger, my dad had me shoot Sporterifle (22 caliber target shooting at 100 (?) feet -- not a misspelling either), and it wasn't uncommon for me to have quite a bit of sway in the beginning.

Yeah, if I were Dale, at that point I would have said, "Wow, I really should have just left you in the CDC. You're nothing but trouble to the rest of us." Then maybe she'd blow her brains out.

I think the bore size is bigger than .22

Although she did everything else wrong, at least she went to the prone position before actually shooting.

He had gone mad at the time.

I haven't seen but one tank lying around and it didn't have any juce.

Haven't seen any RVs on the side of the road... doesn't mean there won't be one. Car lots tend to be in cities which tend to be full of zombies.

I can't stand that character.

Tanks are horribly inefficient too. They require tons of fuel and get horrible mileage. They'd be stopping to fill it constantly. I'd imagine they have special maintenance requirements that the average person, even someone mechanically inclined wouldn't be able to perform.

There were several at the at the CDC along with hummers and all kinds of weapons;
Which they entered quickly and escaped from just as quickly; followed by zombies/explosions. also this:

RV's are everywhere in real life and not to see any on the side of the road when there is a mass exodus of a major city like Atlanta is writer fail. The generator for power would be handy along with the 50 gallon fresh water tank.
Agreed.
Well just go to a fricken dealership and snag one.
again, car-dealerships tend to be in cities, cities are over run by zombies.

"they are napalming the streets" which, of course, means that they were using the targeted-napalming technique! (When I said this my office mate said "I must have missed that class").

Yeah, I frequent imfdb. Dale's rifle is a Ruger Hawkeye, probably a large .30-type caliber looking at that bore. Way too big for a .22.

But yeah, piles of stupid in this episode. I knew it was gonna be a bad day when she started out chambering her pistol high above her head...protip, you can't verify loads that way, kids.
The fact that she only grazed Darryl's head was dumb-as-shit blind f'in luck...the fact that she missed the group was less so based on the angle, but still not a position one would want to be in. Oh, and Herschel and Co. is hoarding zombies? No wonder he doesn't want guns, it would only make him marginally smarter.

Something like a Bradley or Striker gets significantly better mileage than a jet powered tank. And even better, but still entirely impervious to any zombie threat would be a standard, run of the mill M1151. There are hundreds of them sitting on every Army post in the country. And it can run any kind of fuel you put in it. And anyone can maintain it.

Tracked vehicles require a lot of maintenance on their tracks.

If you want some armor protection maybe a SWAT vehicle or bank truck. You can find them in every city.

I'm thinking a Brink's armored truck might be nice, decent visibility, mileage wouldn't be too great....

Yeah the big pit O zombies looks interesting. My guess is family and friends...

But M1151s are available in great numbers at every Army post. Armored cars are few and far between. Plus much more complicated to work on.

A lot of the things that go on in this show defies logic, least of which is their choice of vehicles. I mean it's really hard to swallow the idea that the might of the military was ineffective at stoping a zombie advance yet a rag tag group of idiots are able to survive on bats, bows, n arrows. Just chalk it up to suspension of disbelief.

But armored trucks are just custom bodies built on common heavy duty trucks. Like an Ford F-450 for example. Those can be found everywhere, parts for them can be found everywhere, and there are lots of people who have worked on them.

You don't see M1151s unless you're near a military base. I doubt the local auto parts stores carry the right parts for it, or that many people outside the military have worked on them.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say the
barn full of zombies is what the old vet is using to make fuel for his generator.

Anyone else wonder why the house is lit up like a Christmas tree as soon as it gets dark?

He was pouring fuel into the generator from a old farm pail; not a gas/diesel can. Must be making it himself...

Take a look under the hood of an F450 and then under the hood of a HMMWV and tell me which one's going to be easier to work on. The HMMWV is designed with battlefield repairs in mind.
