please. the fusion/milan doesn't hold a candle to even my previous gen accord let alone the newer refined one in terms on quality and performance, especially the 6mt coupe. the previous generation mazda 6 was a piece of crap in the interior, it didnt even have coinholders. this new mazda 6 will give it a run for its money though

Consumer Reports called, they need you to come over real quick to clean their toilets. Motor Trend called to, they need to get them some Starbucks.

Honestly the domestic "quality" and "refinement" bullshit is so 1980s. It's obvious you have spent zero time in either the Fusion or Milan. Listening to ignorant people regurgitate what they read in this weeks auto-rag is tiresome to say the least.

i test drove a g-d '07 fusion and it was ok, but nowhere near the accord also test drove the mazda 6 as well and was displeased w/ the interior. i stand by my claims.

It's funny though that when people here talk about interiors in domestic cars, its considered as 'shit'. However when the same is pointed out in Japanese vehicles, its defended as 'practical'.

IMHO, most econoboxes have shit interior doesn't matter if its a Chevy Aveo or an Toyota. Some cars are utilitarian...to get from point A to point B. Other cars are fun to drive...its like the Cadillac commercial..."when you turn on our car...does it return the favor?"

My '06 5-door is extremely practical. And I love how it looks like a sedan rather than a wagon.

I have a feeling that they didn't sell enough MT/V6 combos to justify keeping it. It was tough to find my 5-door V6 MT. The 4-cyl/MT was more common. And to be honest, I think I'd opt for the 6 speed AT if I had to choose again. I'm really missing an extra overdrive gear on the highway.

while the Altima's 270-hp 3.5-liter V6 recorded just 17 mpg. (The Altima V6 also requires premium fuel.)

Wow, I have the '07 3.5SL and I get between 24 and 27 MPG which includes city driving and some rare highway driving. Most of my driving is to and from work which is state route... your standard one lane going each way with speed varying from 40-55 with three stop lights and lots of hills. I think the real killer on my mileage is the one stop light that when going home stops me on a hill... getting back up to 60mph from that is loads of fun... especially since that light is on a hair trigger. But yeah, I used normal 87 octane and when I switched to 89 octane, I saw absolutely no difference in fuel economy (although I do continue to use it).

I have the 07 V6 5 Door 6 with black leather seats and I love it! I agree and its a shame that they don't make it anymore....You can fit so much in there with the whole back the opens up. The rear wiper is a nice benefit as well.

It's about time.

The Altima stole Zoom-Zoom from Mazda, but it looks like Mazda got it back with the new 6.

This is why I don't use magazine comparos to evaluate real world mileage. They thrash the cars and generally include track testing in their overall mileage report.

Well, I could see the Altima doing poorly if you floor it every time you accelerate... if my gas gauge is any indication, it doesn't do so hot if you accelerate quickly... even just for a little bit. Like yesterday at that annoying stop that I mentioned, I put it into manual mode and went from 0 to 60 (up a 45 degree incline) "shifting" (don't gimme yer crap, manual elitists... I know who you are now!) at around 4.5k to 5k and it accelerated pretty quickly for going up a hill... no timer or anything, which may've been a little fun to do. But damn, did it eat up my gas .

That's why I hate that stop so much... I don't want to be that annoying slow person speeding up from a stop, but my God, it's such a pain accelerating from a stop on a hill.

Test drove the I4 GT yesterday and I liked it. Even my wife (who hates our 2002 Mazda Protegé5) liked it.Since she is going to be the primary driver (well, weekdays) and she liked the colour we drove (I didn't even notice the colour), barring being wowed by something else (haven't done the other brands yet), I think we'll end up with it. Fucking ripoff compared to the states though... C$36K for the I4 GT with luxury package (keyless entry/start, audio system, sunroof, leather). Maybe I should look into cross-boarder shopping.

If they decide to bring back the Mazdaspeed 6, I want to see more than 300hp.

^^ Co-signed, the 3.7L DOHC 24 valve 6-cylinder already puts out 272 hp, adding a turbo plus AWD would boost up the horsepower to at least in the high 300's, possibly low 400's. The mazdaspeed 3 goes from 156 hp to 263 hp, so the gain should be similar.

You can buy an MZ6 in either sedan, 5-door, or wagon versions anywhere outside of North America:

5-Door

But I don't think you can get a V6+MT anywhere.

LOL that would be great but honestly they would never make one with that much power. The New MS6 would probably be around 300-330 with AWD but obviously be heavier. They seriously need to do a Mazdaspeed RX-8 TURBO'D!!!!!!!!!!! That would be pure sex. Even 300hp would be great. That's not really asking for much in today's age.

The new Mazda6 we see in NA is exclusve to the fatass NA market. Rest of the world is still getting the smaller Mazda6.
