Configure your email client with both accounts using IMAP protocol. Move everything from one account to the other.

I recommend Gmail.

If it's good enough for Abe Lincoln it's good enough for me.

Since we're bitching about the telecom oligopoly, Comcast raised my internet speeds without asking and then of course raised my rates by $20/month too. Wtf. I only pay for Internet.

Don't you just love those so-called "free upgrades"?

I started out at 6Mbps and $30 a month. Then they bumped the speed to 15Mbps and now 50Mbps which costs me $44 a month. All of which were touted as "free upgrades".

I used to work from home, online. Recently comcast cant stay connected, always a DNS issue, they cant ever figure out the problem, nothing changed on my end, random 15min periods of downtime throughout the day. I have an exemplary record at work for both attendance and performance. Yet I was let go recently over the issue. My work was very nice about it and gave me all the parting benefits they could. But comcast fucked me. To this day I still have the problem and they cant fix it. I live in a building that MUST use comcast, I cant use any other service nor is there one in the area.
Fuck comcast, fuck them in the goat ass. lol Now I have to get up and go to a real job every day. Comcast i hate you with the passion of 1000 suns.

What did you do that required a constant connection to where even 15 minutes of non-connectivity was the cause of your firing?

You can override their DNS and use Google's DNS (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4).

posting random twitter messages/texts from "fans" to one of those MTV shows--or I guess now Bravo? (like they used to do with TRL)...and I guess the downtime was always during airtime?

I dunno.

I suspect there was more to it than the Comcast connectivity scapegoat.

Can't wait to be fully rid of comcast. I cut the cord a year ago and LOVE it. However I still have comcast Internet. However, this year we are getting a local 1gbps fiber Internet provider. They are wiring up the city currently. The day I call to cancel it I'm telling them to eat shit when they try to get me to stay.

I was doing online tech support where I would be connected to between 3 and 7 PCs at a time fixing whatever problems they had, like malware removal, reinstalling drivers, supporting a certain anti virus program, diagnosing various issues, sometimes as simple as changing a background or a homepage, but usually malware. Worked on windows from XP to 10 and OSX. If my connection dropped for more than 3 minutes I would get booted from the work environment losing all my connections and having to then call all the people back, get reconnected to their PCs and then it would happen again. Not a good customer experience. I would also get phone calls through the net connection on a software phone and miss calls. This also went on for a long period of time, and over time I surpassed the amount of time you can be offline during your shift. It wasnt always 15m as well, sometimes it was hours. But in the last months it had IMPROVED to 15min downtimes, but over and over. It sucks and it still happens. Less often now but the damage was done.

You can override their DNS and use Google's DNS (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4).

This was the first thing I tried (Im A+ Net+ Storage+ and Sec+ certified) but it wasnt just the DNS the whole service would go off and the modem would reboot. Had the modem replaced twice as well. Other people in the building Im in have the same issue.

Connection started getting funky in June of 2015, before that it was rock solid. I had been there for years. :/

Also, I have never used twitter and never had a facebook account. lol

Every ISP I've ever had encountered Dns issues at some point. Try Google Dns or opendns and don't look back.

Ah, saw your response. It can't be just a Dns issue then. Does your modem happen to have a battery in it? Have you tried removing it for a power cycle during one of the outages? Sorry I am curious

Yeah, but it was a FREE speed increase.

The last time Comcast upgrade the speeds in my area was last year. I had Blast and the speed increased from 50/5 (or maybe it was 50/10) to 105/10. So I downgraded to the lower Performance tier and saved $12 and had the same 50/5 I had before. Then, of course, a couple months later they raised the rates by $5.

It doesnt and I appreciate all the suggestions, i lost this job months ago. So now I barely notice the outages and sort of dont care anymore cuz stability is no longer an issue. nothin i can do.

It's either Comcast or AT&T. Or, cut the cord entirely and go the Roku, Hulu, Slingbox, Chromecast route.

This. Just be done with it. Welcome to the party. Find the cheapest internet you can, get a Firestick/Apple TV and load Kodi on it. If that is not enough for you, add a small fee subscription to cap it off (ie; sling and/or netflix)...These bastards are not going to learn until they find out who's driving the bus.

Yeah. I've been vacillating back and forth about what to do. I'm thinking I want to blow off my phone and TV and for now just find the best deal on internet. In my area, (Fort Lauderdale), I'm seeing only Comcast and AT&T. Between the two, Comcast seems to offer much better speeds and prices. Does anyone in this area know of a reliable ISP? Once I settle on this I'll deal with all the TV possibilities and whether or not I need a house phone.

I started out on some 79.99 plan in 2011 with Comcast. Over the course of the last 4.5 years it has grown to 190 bucks after tax. I called and told them it was too much. The guy came back with some 159.99 plan. Told him to try closer to 100\month. He moved me onto the next department that set me on an 89.99+tax plan. I was ready to drop them if it couldnt be done and go with centurylink internet + sling TV for 50\month. My internet connection is 125 Mbps.

$240?

How is that even possible? Are you renting 10 cable boxes and live in a mansion?

I do the double play and if it were at a non introductory rate it would be $140 or so. Thing is, The triple play is only a few bucks more. Maybe $150.

And I am getting something like 260 channels. I think I get all channels other than HBO and that crap.

Comcast internet/phone/tv with HBO, one box and tv, is like $250 a month.

That just seems like an incredible ripoff.

I have a ton of channels and my Directv bill is like $100. Then my fiber internet is like $50. I guess it comes with phone but I'd have to look up the number.

If it wasn't for sports I'd just drop Direct and stick with Netflix/Hulu/Prime.

Really holding out for Google Fiber to roll out in Portland, though.

Has to be regional.

Here is my Comcast:

80+mbs internet/HBO/ one X1 box w/HD, semi-basic cable = $60 a month after fees taxes.

I'm at $25/mo for 30mbps internet only.

Moving soon and there is no Comcast... I'm sad actually.
