From my experience with newegg, there is NO way I am going to defend them.

Me - can you look at my account, I have an question about billing
newegg customer service - No I will not look at your account, we do not make mistakes like that
Me - will you "please" just look at my account
newegg customer service - no, I will not look at your account
newegg customer service - is there anything else I can help you with today?
Me - I just want someone to look at my account and fix the problem
newegg customer service - we do not make mistakes like that, so there is no use in looking at your account

And that is how it went for almost a week.

That doesn't make any sense. You can't purchase anything online any way since you don't believe in credit cards.

I've only ever used their chat support and had no issues at all. I've also returned opened products before and not been charged a restocking fee.

Personally I don't see how the OP issue is reason to get all butthurt. So there was a pricing issue on the search. That means they should just give you $20 off? Because you order stuff a lot?

To me you shoulda said "oh that sucks" and moved on. Hell I don't think it would have even occurred to me to call them and demand they give me the incorrect price.

Problem with shopping at amazon though is you'll never know what makes up that video card since their descriptions and product "details" suck balls. It's horrible. Lets just take a random look for the first result for the words "Video Card":
http://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-6850-...2860865&sr=8-2

Notice the complete lack of any real information. How much onboard ram? Nobody knows except the people that look up the info at newegg then come back and buy at amazon. And nearly every product is this way. Their product description for high end camera's might as well say "Yeah, it's a camera. you click a button it takes a picture. Buy me".

I don't get it... right as I enter my credit card and just before I hit the submit button as final, I always know what I'm paying because it says it right there. You never know if something else was in your cart from before... you always see the final price before you click the final submit...

That's ALMOST as bad as buying something in a store without looking at a price at all.

BTW, amazon = tax in NY ... newegg = no tax.

I thought it was common knowledge that newegg chat was useless and you have to call to get anything done.

Apparently it's gotten worse over the years. I think I've only had to deal with them a couple of times over the years on problems and it was always resolved immediately on the first contact in chat. Not so this time.

BUT, one phone call and it was resolved...I think. (still waiting for them to credit my account)

Do they match their own prices? I bought Office 2010 a week ago (still haven't gotten it ) for $100. A few hours after I ordered it it was listing for $75.

Not usually...unless it hasn't shipped yet, then MAYBE they'll match their own price.

I agree with you, but in this case you can click on the photo of the box and it says 1 gb ddr5 on the top front of the box.

agreed. This is closer to those online Hot Deal shoppers that order a price mistake hoping the merchant either doesn't catch it, or offers a gift certificate as compensation. (I'm not accusing the OP of bad faith.)

Unlike most sites, Newegg even has the "I agree" with terms & conditions checkbox when you finalize the order. But like I said earlier, if the OP's order history is substantial, they could've made a one-time exception.
