Egghead Free Shipping?

I was looking at some auctions at egghead and a bunch of people have posted next to their bids that there is supposed to be free shipping. Does anyone know where this was advertised?

stay away from egghead/onsale. They will really go to every length to screw you. from the 10$ shipping charge PER ITEM (even if you order multiples) for a 8$ item to the auctions where the information is not correct, to the shill bids they use to drive up their auction. Ever wonder why they remove the auction pages as soon as they are over? Its because before they had the winners listed. there would be 500 items at, say, 5$ with bids for maybe half the items then at the last second, someone would bid 30$ for 450 of them. Well, that sounds really honest... HA! That was a shill bid they are using to make sure they dont sell at anything less than the 30$. They are crooks, dont buy there.

Last item I purchased from Egghead/Onsale were three 50 pack of CD-Rs. I agree that they charge too much for shipping. Does it really cost $15 to ship a 50pk of CD-Rs? But when I bid on multiple items, they only charged me like $20 for shipping instead of the $45 I expected. Looks like there is some inconsistent shipping price structure.

They also cancel deals after billing your credit card, not to mention a total crap service department.

onvia offers free shipping, you might want to look there. But really you will not find many people here that like egghead/onsale at all because of all the crap they have pulled. stupid me I should have learned after 2 bad deals with them but I bought something from there, and the item was not as advertised and is therefore not useable. Ive had to list them on fleabay with a good description of what they actually are in hopes of getting my money back. if it had been what it was listed as it would have been a nice deal but the crap they pull makes it not worth it

since we are on the subject of egg/onsale. those 30 bid piss me off too. last order i place with them was the 50 80min cdr for 9.00
but i apply free shipping which make it a ok deal. otherwise, i would stay away as well. unless they have something you realy need.
need 8x20 scsi cdr drive with card, got the new one for 116 + 14 shipping. not good, but not that bad.

free shipping code AC722, i think got it from techbargain, should expire last month.

ahh egghead, more like &^%$head, customer service?? I think they have one part-time guy ...once I refused an item, ordered something like a nordic ski machine, the item sent to me was not much bigger than a large shoe box, I was about to sign on the dotted line when it hit me that the item I bought was 60 lbs and the ups dude was holding the oversized shoe box with one hand ....I was thinking thats one strong ups dude ;-).
it took me 3 customer service reqs, 2 emails, no result, finally I asked them to acknowledge recipt of the refused package (I was tracking it) so I can submit it as evidence for the claim I am about to file with the local courts!!! voila refund appeared.
I have bought serval dozen item from eggh, I agree sometimes you do get good deal, but buyer beware.

The sad thing is that Onsale actually used to be pretty decent before they were bought out by Egghead. I had gotten some great deals way back when... <tear forming in corner of eye>

Yup... Onsale had some good deals. Totally different now with Egghead... Boy, I have had my share of bad stories with Egghead... but I did just buy a PC through their auction this month for a good price.

I stopped using both EGGHEAD and ONSALE ever since they merged. ONVIA is the only way to go nowaday. Excellent service.
