Egghead Goes Bye-Bye

Looks like egghead.com filed Chapter 11 today. Watch out for some insane deals and for those of you who just bought - good luck! I hope you get your stuff. I know this isn't a hot deal - lock if you need too but it is certainly hot information for this group.

not a hot deal but should be in brag and moan.. anyway i just order a sony vaio 850 p3 that was 1700 with 100 rebate where everyone else was at 2200 min.. i notice their auction stuff has been reduced and stuff.. luckily i use over night priority

What a perfect example of mad management and/or marketing. In the 80's the Egghead B&M was the #1 Retail Software Store (I remember getting Apple II software there as a kiddy) . . . then the B&M goes under and Egghead.com appears and now this . . .

I dunno about the Chapter 11, but something's definitely been
"off" about Egghead in the past couple of months. Ever since
they redid their auction site, the offerings have been
drastically reduced, and it seems the amount of stuff
the large vendors have been selling through Egghead (HP,
Intel, Xerox, etc.) has gone down dramatically...Seems something's
up (down), even if the bankruptcy rumor isn't true.
