Thats good news then.

Yeah I was saying I think it is the LE in the first place.. they seem to be all over the place. I guess eVga just unloaded a ton into the market.. I have yet to see any other manufacturer brands for sale.

what's a considered a decent 12v amp to run the Ultra setting?

will a 18 amp do it? It's a 450W, but the 12v must have sucked.

shucks. Newegg doesn't have eVGA 6800 LE anymore. Removed it from the list even.

Only ZZF @ $350 right now. Now I am debating if I should just go for 6800 GT.

Hey aonic, good work on that .bat file.. I haven't made one of those in gosh, 12 years probably. Just one question.. will this floppy enable hard disks? I read somewhere that NTFS formatted hard drives needed some special file to be usable, and I have wasted a box of CDs trying to make a bootable CD-R (yeah yeah I just didnt feel like going to buy a single CD-RW hah). So in summary, does booting to this floppy let me access my NTFS hard drive? If not, any clue how to make it so?

im not sure, I dont have NTFS HD's or id try but
right click your floppy drive > format > check "Create MS-DOS system Disk"
and it will make a XP boot disk for you, so try that floppy it might support NTFS..

Just ordered a floppy drive from Newegg, for 9.99 total.. bleh! I think it's the only way to get this flashing done, plus I need to run some HDD utilities from the same DOS.. I made sure to get the black for my beige case since it will obviously be the bastardized black sheep of my electronic family.

I think I will got for the LE.

There's shouldn't be any risks in flashing a gfx card ???
What's the worst wrong thing I can do wrong during flashing?

Also, I have a Asus A7N8X Deluxe mobo. That 2-slot card should fit in just fine right?

ya it will be fine, well there are risks in flashing.. you could screw it up and you would have to flash it blindly back to default (shouldnt be hard with the new boot disk kit)

Oh so you can flash blindly back to default? So in essence, I have to try really hard to flash it wrongly
to mess up the card right?

Ok, I saw a lot of boot disk and flash stuff in previous posts. Probably need help here, haven't flashed gfx
before, but flashed mobo.

What's the most updated and recent post on that flashing and boot disk? There were so many posts on it.

I just flashed to LE using the "1" on the main menu, and flashed back using the 1.3v of LE - GT
Worked flawlessly

Nah don't try to hard, just pull the power plug while the new BIOS is writing to the chipset.

While not something that radical!!! I could just accidentally drop a hammer during flashing process.

I've seen this asked more than once and there wasn't any answer. What's the correlation between the motherboard bios agp voltage setting and the one in the video card bios?

OK so they are seperate, the video bios should set the voltage to 1.4 what should the board bios be set to? 1.4 also? auto? something else?

So I got my NV silencer today, very impressive! It's *significantly* quieter then the stock cooling and dropped my idle temps by ~4 degrees and load temps by ~10. Having it push the air out of the case make the biggest difference I think. My hard drive temps also dropped by the same margin since the air is now being sucked away from them instead of blown on them.

On a somewhat different note, having a high wattage power supply isn't nearly as important as a high amp supply on the 12V line. I'm running my system off a 300W seasonic tornado with an 18A 12v line and having no problems at 410/1240...which is plenty fast enough for me. The rest of the system is an AMD64 3000+ (not OCed right now), 1 gig ram, 2 HD's and an optical drive. I might be able to squeeze more out if it if I tried/had more power, but I'm happy where it is.
