What do you mean I am not running emm386? How to make it run?

inst your floppy drive here yet egoad? just try that
I think either my floppy drive is messed up or all 5 of my floppy disks are spoiled. Cos I tried using your floppy disk program, format halfway, it will say that it cannot read sector - ALL 5 floppies.

It seems that the newer batches of 6800 LE seem to suck and comes at 325/700.

I wonder if ZZF or eVGA sense that we want more of 6800 LE. And gave us a different batch??

Mine came 325/700 from zzf.. running a nice and stable 425/1100 atm, just played warcraft 3 for like 4 hours, temp got up to 64ish.. never once saw an artifact, no stutter, nothing.. ran perfect. best 3dmark05 score so far on my crappy comp is 5376 i think.. not ALL are screwed up

My 4 i ordered 2 from newegg and 2 from zip zoom came clocked @ 325/1100 and sold 3 in customers rigs, I kept the best clocking one for myself.

I flashed mine to a ultra 1.5v gpu. it's running stable @ 475x1250 no artifacts!!!

man...hwyt is everyone getting better 3md05 scores than I am? I have an A64 2800+ @ 2.2 (275x8), 512MB of ram, and the card flashed with the 1.5 ultra bios running at 425/1100. I get a 4917. Anyone else think that is a bit low, everyone else I have been seeing get in the 5xxx range. Could it be my ram?

hey guys,

I got mine from zzf too and it came 325/700 but right now I got it flashed to 1.5 ultra bios and running stable at 430/1250 no artifacts. Just the problem is that if I go any higher on the core or mem, coolbits bitches at me about not passing some internal test. What program or method do you guys use for overclocking? I just want to see some artifacts before I believe that it cannot be pushed any further.

Also I have the same 3dmark 05 issue, with my 2.6ghz Athlon xp mobile, all I get is around 4600 and people are getting in the 5xxx range, I was just wondering if I am missing something. I run 66.81's everything stock and clocks max. Could it be that the card stays in 2d clocking?

here it is

If you are one of the several that is unable to change the bios on your card here is a fix!!!!!!
I took the download from above and changed the name on the bios file I wanted, le-gt, 6800ultra or whatever your desired bios file is named to (n347.rom). N347.rom is the name of the stock bios that comes in the evga download and you MUST rename the bios you want to this NAME (n347.rom) in order for it to flash. This is a automated program, however if your bios has a ID mismatch it will say that there is a mismatch, do you want to flash anyway? select Y and it will flash your card. Look for your
keyboard lights to flash back and forth. This program works with any bios file you want just rename it to n347.rom.

Thanks to AWhackWhiteboy for providing the original file.

Have fun, Gandolf

Well, I got mine today. 325/1100 out of the box with all 16 pipes open. Ran 3dmark03 with everything stock and got a 10040. Some slight artifacts...on the turtles back. I then flashed to gt 1.4. Easy as hell. Thanks for all of your work. I have been able to overclock easily 3d permance mode only with Coolbits 2 to 430/1.20. Runs perfectly. It's running pretty hot though. It has an Idle temp right now at 63 degrees (42 ambient) and when I ran 3dmark it got up to 70. Should I be worried about that? I have WOohoo.
Thanks again for all of your hard work guys.

Where did you order your LE 6800 from johnannie??

Also, what do I need to do to flash the BIOS. I see a self-installing floppy bios kit, so do I put those files onto a system floppy disk or a blank one. And what do I do with the CD image for the modded BIOS. Do I just use one or the other, or both??

I bought mine from a guy on Ebay named Kuckyinkentucky. He said that he got his cards from the same place that newegg got theirs.

I flashed the bios with the disk provided by Aonic and Thugsrook. Works perfectly.

Good luck

MY card is dead it seems. I have had nothing but problems with it since I got it, and I even re-formatted just to make certain but the problems got worse.

The card would not be recognised on boot-up and would go into 640x480 on occasion. Now after removing the drivers, booting into safe-mode and using driver cleaner, then booting back up to reinstall drivers, once I install drivers and reboot, instead of going into control of the new 6800 driver set, I'm greeted with a "new hardware recognised windows will install drivers, blah,blah.." and when I re-boot, I get a black screen, no dos curser in the corner no nothing.

It will work in std vga mode only,i.e., safe mode display works, but thats it

i've been having some major issues with mine too. the memory refuses to run at 1100. i can't leave it at those speeds otherwise if i do anything 3D i get artifacts, then after 15 seconds my monitors go blank and i have to hard reboot.

this cards being RMAed, i'm just afraid they will give me an 'equivilent' like a GT or something. i NEED dual dvi

Wow this is a long ever-lasting thread

I have a few tricksy issues that I hope can get answered.

- Do all overclocking apps actually have to tell the video card what MHz to OC to on each and every boot-up? (ie it's not permanantely locked in, but card needs reminding) So if you reinstall drivers or lose coolbits/riva tuner, you'd lose the OC?

- Is the video card temps dependent in any way on what motherboard you have, because unlike most ppl here showing mid 50s idle temperature, mine is and has always been low 60s. I have a good clean setup with several fans including a 120mm Panaflo blowhole, so I should be ok there. I hear that Abit mobos usually overexaggerate their temps tho.

- Since the GT BIOS has the 'bug' of losing dual DVI functionality, can it be theorized that it may possibly have other minor bugs that could cause future instability/incompatibility? Afterall, we are trying to match a software to a hardware which are not identical.

- Is the dual-mode cooling function fixed in both the GT rev. 2 and Ultra rev. 4 BIOSes? What is the estimated performance gain with the GT and its timings over the Ultra at say 400mhz? I'd imagine 5% or less.

TY all, particularly Thugs/Aonic.

Killrose, since the card works in safe mode that means its a driver issue in regular mode
Vally, the dual dvi does not work in GT bios becuase a real GT does not have dual DVI's so use a ultra bios if you need dual dvi

I posted this on BE, but figured others here might want to see it as well... this helps you overclock your card when Coolbits/Rivatuner tests won't pass. Use it at your own risk. It won't eliminate artifacts at high clocks, but it will let you go higher if you are sure that it is safe to do so.

Quote:
What did you use in place of coolbits? Do your clock speeds consist across reboots? TIA

This is how I OC my card. Download PowerStrip and RivaTuner (Coolbits might work, havent tested). Open PowerStrip and check your OC meter.. set it where you think it should be. Close PowerStrip and open RT or maybe coolbits (not sure if it works, needs testing). Verify RT is reporting the new settings you used in PowerStrip. Also make sure there is no warnings- the yellow ! (try to keep it in the blue stretch) to be totally safe.Where it says Save Setting or Apply at Startup, click save and check the box. RivaTuner shouldn't require a test for them since it was set when you loaded it. You can now reboot at will and your settings will be used every time. Reloading a driver/bios or anything like that will require you to reset it, but rebooting/powering down should not. hope this helps

I flashed to the new stock bios with my 700 mhz card and now look at what happened with total stock speed 324 /1097. I cannot play any games as everyimage is a ghost and has triangles through it . I give up it is getting RMAed,

It seems to be a driver issue as I get this problem with the 61.77 drivers but installed the 66.81 drivers and worked fine except for little white boxes on the screen in NASCAR 2004 and red dots in MOHAA.
