eVGA definetly knows what is going on now with these cards. when I called them they didnt even ask me what drivers I was running or my other components in my system. I said that it ran fine at 325/700 and artifacts at 325/1100 and his response was RMA.

Well one thing that is odd is that he claims he opened the box to "take pictures only and test." But the pictures he's showing are the exact same ones from Newegg, just with a photoshopped background.

Hey Guys I need a little help.
I tried to flush the bios but I'm a noob and scewed something up. All I get now is a black screen.
Is there any way to get this card working again? I called eVga and said they would RMA it but I hate to give up without a fight.

Use the self extracting boot disk.

you have to do either a blind flash or put in a cheap PCI card and try to flash it with that.

it should also be noted that flashing a card voids in warranty, so don't expect eVGA to honor that RMA once they get it an realize what you did.

i would use the boot disc to do a blind flash i think all u have to do is press y and it does it automactically

I called evga and they said no problem to RMA because they sent me the bios with no directions on how to do a flush. Since I had a hard enought time when I could see I think blind is not a good idea for a noob. Thanks for the replys guys. At $339 let then figure it out.

The shipping is negotiable with eVGA. So you can actually request for free shipping to and back.

if it dont fix it you can always flash back and RMA it.

I flashed with the latest LE Ultra 400/1100 BIOS, uninstalled and cleaned drivers then reinstalled drivers and still had artifacts and graphic anomolies. Installed coolbits2 and dropped RAM down to 700 and it ran clean. Oh well...

there is no options like the other flashing programs. the evga boot disc is very simple all u have to do is boot from floppy wait a few sec then press y to flash.

the leds for caps lock,number lock and the the third one will light on in a sequence when flashing just wait till its done to turn the power off

They will not pay to have it shipped to them it is your responsabilty as I tried 3 times and they said no and I even offeren them maybe just half of the shipping cost maybe. They will ship back to you free (waved the cost) but that is it.


I think everybody that had to RMA there cards should call them and ask for something to help cover the cose of shipping since there were so many defective cards and why should we have to pay more for our cards because of there mistake. We shouldd all call them and try to maybe get the farcry game from them they bundled with there card earlier I beleive as it would compensate for some of the shipping back?

What do you think??

You know, thinking about it in those terms, he is right. You guys are all taking a card you paid $350 and turning it into a $600 card. You cant caugh up antoehr $15 for that?

Well I mailed the card back today. $17 to ship with $350 in insurance. Here is what eVga sent in my email with the RMA number.

RMA Service Charge: $0.00
Shipping Total: $0.00
Grand Total: $0.00

These charges have been waived by eVGA.com.

So $17 to send the card back and hopfully get a new card without any problems is not that bad.

I installed the LE to Ultra bios with the 400/1100 clocks, but for some reason in rivatuner it read it at 350/1100. Anyone know why? Thanks.

You need to remove and re-install Riva tuner or somewhere in the control panel there is an up-date button. It is using old info based on the old bios.

If you are using Thug's BIOS (in the Aonic diskette), it gives your card two speeds--350 for 2D (regular desktop stuf), and 400 for 3D (gaming, etc.)

Did you look at both 2D and 3D speeds? Perhaps this is what you are seeing?

Yes I made sure its 3d. Anyways I fixed the problem. I flashed the bios manually, and it worked. I guess I was selecting option two rather than three. Thing is, I did it twice to make sure.....im an idiot.

Some of them say 128mb does riva unlock the 128 more? What makes the le be able to get the ultra speed? (sorry if you may have mentioned info its just this forum is 62 pages.
