Can they tell if I have flashed the bios? I don't believe in RMAing a card that i purposely voided the warranty on, but with it being crap out of the box I don't mind trying it.

I don't know of they could tell if you even left the ultra bios on it.. just disable the fan, load up some intense 3d games and play until it quits! HAH just kidding, don't do that..

GT has better timings for memory

but since GT only has one dvi in the real card, i think only one DVI works

From the posts on bleedingedge, it doesn't appear flashing helps. Mine is going back. In the hopes for an 1100, or for my money

Has anyone seen a site that is selling these cheap? I hate to spend $25 more for the card than what newegg was selling it for just to get it (darn ZZF)

Or anyone happen to buy 2 and want to sell me one?

I check the thread, I didn't see where anyone actually tried to flash it, most seemed afraid to, due to voiding the warranty. They are advertised at 1100, so they should be set there.. gosh I am scared to get mine tomorrow now

It just doesnt make sense. The cards both look the same. Same HSF, same dual DVI, same packaging, same advertised specs. Maybe just a couple people got bad ones, maybe they aren't checking them out right. Maybe a flash is all that is needed. I don't know, but I will find out what mine is tomorrow I guess.

two people over there flashed theirs that had 700mhz memory and they both died at 900, couldn't run 1100. One person flashed and it ran ok, the other oc'd with coolbits and it seemed to work..

Just grab the one at ZZF before it rises further.
Mine's coming in 2 days perhaps.

If I don't like what I see, I will sell it to you. But probably I will love it because I am upgrading from ti4200 64mb.

Just to let you all know. When I got my card from newegg, it came at 325/1100. I fresh installed 66.81's out of the box, and ran 3dmark '03 and '05, and got massive artifacts. They were little black and white rectangles all over the screen. I actually had to *Underclock* my ram down to 1000 for them to go away. I know this wasnt due to power. I was freaked out and thought I had a faulty card and was tempted to RMA it, but decided to try a flash instead.

Well, after flashing to LE-GT14, I now run at 425/1150 no problem at all. All those problems are gone, which leads me to believe that these factory default LE bios' are really really messed up. It seems like some people can OC them out of the box really high to like 390/1200, and some people have troubles even getting 350/1100 without artifacts on default bios.

Anyways, my point is, is that some of these cards (mine being one) will artifact with the ram speeds at 1100 stock bios. It doesnt necessarily mean your card is faulty. I know like I said, I thought mine was too, till after the flash I realized the card was just fine. Maybe this was an issue in enough cards, and too many were getting RMA'd at stock of 325/1100, that they just bumped the ram down to 700 so that it wouldnt be an issue still. I would check your ram, using everest or something else, to see if its gddr3, and if its 1.6ns. If it is, should be capable of 1100mhz on ram speed no problem. (Ultra's default ram speed)

Just my 2 cents

With aonic/thugs uber bios flash utility, its a snap to test it anyway. flash to GT/ultra, if it doesnt work, reflash to stock, can do it blind even.. then RMA

Ok, stupid question here, using coolbits I set the 2D and 3D gpu clock and memory timming settings. So, is it necessary to manually select which setting, 2D or 3D, depending on what I'm doing with the box or with the card adjust automatically?

New posts over on bleedinedge report people with ZZF cards getting the 1100 memory out of the box, flashing to ultra/GT just fine etc.. so it seems a small % isn't set the same, probably why they are LEs.. next on FOX: When BIOSes Go Bad!

never adjust 2D settings, only the 3D.

Well I took the plunge and decided to flash my card after getting artifacts @stock speeds and everything looks great now!! Thanks a ton to Thugsrook and Aonic for all the help. Scores at bios default clocks are now:
3DMark05- 4450
3DMark03- 10500

No more artifacting or hesitation. The only concern i have is that my card doesn't seem to want to OC at all. i enabled Coolbits and had it detect optimal frequencies and it just blinked and did nothing. I then tried to manually overclock and it failed testing at 400/1.1, 350/1.2, and 375/1.1. Coolbits worked fine on my 6800GT so I'm a little confused. Should I use a different program?

Temps are 52C idle and 69C max load.

Ok I've been playing around with my 325/700 stock clocked card, and here's what I've found:

1) GT bios doesn't work. I get no monitor sync at all. I guess the mem timings are too agressive...

2) Ultra bios works fine, I tried it at 400/1100 @ 1.5v, but after a few hours of 3dmark + gaming my system rebooted!! So I lowered voltage to 1.4v, and did auto frequency detect with nVidia's tools -- autodetected to 390/1.17. I'm leaving it at that.

Question -- is the autodetect frequency tool generally reliable?? I'm a little nervous clocking the mem so high, but if nVidia's tool says it's cool...

I'm still having issues...

Artifacts in CS:S and Doom3, Warhammer 40k: DoW runs flawlessly, though.

Using coolbits and rivatuner my system will not overclock OR underclock. No matter what I put the settings at it fails to test.

I've done clean driver installs on with multiple driver versions, tried multiple bios... I just can't think of anything else. Things run fine w/ stock bios but even then I can't even underclock the card, just keeps failing to test. What am I missing?
