yeah there are some issues the demo has that the full game does not. I think if you turn off AA/AF some of the problems go away or some other settings.

They released a patch for the retail version that fixed all the bugs you listed above. Graphics look awesome with this card, I have them set at the highest on all settings.

Hey guys, just received replacement card. What kinda dissapointed me was that box was open, S/N does not match. Could this be a problem in future if I want a RMA this one, or they won't watch/won't need box at all?Numbers were 5XX again, but it's working at 400/1100 looks like(came in 325/700).
Another thing, I flashed it to Ultra (350/1100) , set clocks in 2D at 375 and 400 in 3D. Idle temp. is now 55C.Is it ok or not? Wich one would be healthier for card, cracnk up some Mhz in 2D (like 400) in 2D and get less temperature or just leave it like it is now?

BTW - nice policy on eVga $25 programm, didn't expect that on their side. Big respect for that, but still,they should have sell these 325/700 cards in different boxes and at different price.

there is no need to adjust 2d speed, revert it back to 350mhz.

both LE-Ultra files are 350mhz 2d.
the LE-U350 is 350mhz 2d / 350mhz 3d
the LE-U400 is 350mhz 2d / 400mhz 3d

well I decided to try my copy of doom3 + patch.

found the artifacts pretty quick.

It seems downclocking the core/mem do not do anything either.

only place i have found it so far, looking in a mirror.

I know the pic does not show much, only 2 white dots that I can count, but to actually look at it, there is much more.

I came across this thread while just searching for info about this card I bought off of newegg.com a few weeks ago. I never knew what I had!

I did the 6800 Ultra BIOS flash on it, and what a difference. With my Athlon XP 2500+, I was got 3496 in 3DMark05. But, there was this constant artifacting that would appear in the 2nd test, even at stock speeds. I could overclock to 350 MHz core before any more artifacting.

I did the BIOS flash, and am now running at 425/1166 and get 5008 in 3DMark05. Also, the artifacting in the second test has gone away and the temperatures have not changed much. This is awesome! Thugsrook, I got most of the info from your posts on another forum linked from here, so thanks a lot man!

It's $20 on the evga site, but shipping kills it for me, $10...
But it keeps coming back to mind so I keep looking at it again.

I know some here upgraded to the NV5, but I don't want to hack my header plate, so what is a modder to do???!!

And of course, Thugsrock and Aonic, you guys did great!

Nice temps. Mine seems to do pretty good using the stock cooling set-up reading about 56C after several hours of gamming @400/1200 using Expertool for the read-out.

RTHdribl is not a game ~ id describe it as the Prime95 for vid cards.
RTHdribl is what you should be using to achive max temps.
(gaming will be 5-15*C cooler)

By header plate im ASSUMING you mean the face/slot plate right? The NV5's now come with a dual dvi single slot replacement for your LE/Ultra so you dont have to worry about hacking the slot plate. When I first purchased my NV5, it didnt come with it. But when I recieved my warranty/replacement (because I broke off two of the screws while tightening them :roll: ) It was included then. I got the the NV5 for like 30bucks, same price basically as the copper heatsink from eVGA. Oh incase you were wondering my temps are 45 idle, and 63 at load.

Well, I just ordered my NV5 cooling system from NewEgg. It should be here by the weekend. I'll let you know how it goes!!!! Does anyone else have one installed? Any results?

I've got an NV5 on my card...HUGE difference! The thing is amazingly quieter then the stock cooling, and cools better too. It's still the loudest thing in my case, but I've done a lot to quiet everything else.
Aside from the noise benifite, I really like how it blows the hot air out the back instead of directly onto my hard drives. Here's abreakdown of temps.

before temp --> after temp
HD 43-45 --> 31-32
gpu idel 56-57 --> 54-55
gpu load 75-76 --> 67 max

It's pretty significant. I did also change the intake fan from an 80mm at 12V to a 120mm at 7V, so there isn't much change in airflow. I didn't get the single slot backplate so I had to hack off part of the origional one, but I've trashed the warrenty anyways so no big deal.

The one thing I thought wasn't so great about the NV 5 is how rough the copper heatsink is on the bottom...I mean REALLY rough..I could see and feel the bumps in it. Overal a great thing to pickup though.

i bet if you applied new thermal paste you'd get the same temps with the stock cooler, granted it won't lower case temps or make it quieter.

I pulled my cooler off and applied some AS5. It seemed that not much care was taken in the application of the original compound. Also, the cooler was not tightened down well.

Hey guys, I went ahead and flashed to the 1.5 GT Bios and it seems everything runs smoother than the ultra bios. I did however notice that my card is running about 5deg hotter than the ultra bios. Has anyone noticed this? Thugs, maybe you can tell me if its normal. Thanks!

yep thats normal.
the GT bios is faster, and a 1.5v bios will be hotter.

its as stable as any other GT bios.

all GT bios files are the same.
there are some minor differences in Ultra files.

the only bios that was truely unstable was an nVidia (GTU) reference bios.

I have a problem. If I leave my comp on and it goes into standby mode, once I come back out from it and check my GPU temp using Expertool, it will read about 83C!!, and it will start to come back down quite quickly. I haven't checked to see if the vid card fan has stopped turning at all, but I would guess it has/does in standby mode.

Any ideas? w/fixes?
