i think the temp reading is incorrect when coming out of standby mode.
much in the same way running below 350mhz core causes a temp reading bug.

make sure the fan is on while in standby (i dont think it can turn off)

what is your max temp when running rthdrbibl for 15+ mins?
if its below 83*C, you know the standby reading is false ~ cause its not possible.

I have confirmed that my fan stops running while monitor is in suspend mode :shocked: !!!

This is with or with out Expertool. This is kinda scary, so everyone should keep an eye out for this. I have since selected: Monitor Suspend Mode: Never in the control panel/ power managment settings.

this may be a Ultra bug, ill see whats up with this.

ok, using a LE-GT14 bios ~ i dont have this bug.

this may be effecting all Ultra owners, and not just LE-Ultra users.
ill look into it further.

This is my first post in these forums and I am actually surprised to see an active 6800LE thread going on. I read through appx the first 25 pages of this thread and not come to a definite conclusion for the rate of failure. Has anyone reported any failures, dying cards, or merely not being able to clock to an ultra after a bios flash? I have the oppurtunity to get one of these cards and I want to know if the card would be worth the time and the trade. I currently have a 6800GT that does a mere 415/1.13 after a bios flash that I may trade for the 6800LE. Is the probability of this card failing on me very high?

Honestly, I don't think I've heard of but one or two people reporting "failed cards". There have been a few people reporting cards that would not OC at all though. There were probably more than 500-600 of the LE's made and most poeple are out playing games having a great time with their $325, 6800 ULTRAs. If you can get a good deal on one I'd say go for it. I have messed with this thing to the point that it was dead for a day (My own fault....never pull the power in a bios flash lol ) and yet it still came back and is running great!! If you do end up purchasing one, the forum here has come to the conclusion that cards ending in 5XX are problematic. The lower the last 3 serial numbers are the better. Mine ends in 2xx and is flying thanks to the Bios work of Thugsrook and Aonic. Good Luck with it. You have come to the right place for help. Thugsrook knows this card inside and out!

Potentially nice deal. I am running my LE at 425/1100 all day. havnt even bothered to clock it higher, this thing screams as it is.

if the personal already used the card, and is getting rid of it then it probably had terrbile results. most of the people that bought these cards would never give them up.

Honestly, if you are able to get 415/1130, you are there, especially if you are runnig a fast GT bios. If you read the thread carefully, you will find benches that show the GT bios faster than the Ultra bios. In other words a card @400/1100 with a GT bios is faster than the same card with the Ultra bios.

Might not be worth the extra hassels you might encounter thru a web deal that may not turn out the way you might imagine it to :beer:

Hey all,

Hoping someone can help me out.

I got one of these LE's, I was having problems with artifacts at first, than i flashed the BIOS using Thugs LE-Ultra and it was running great at 425/1100. I was getting a 3800+ score on 3DMark05, my system was a AMD 1600+ and 512 Mem...not that great....

Ok, so i decided to upgrade my system, A64 3200+, MSI Neo Plat, Zalman 7000 H/S, 1G OCZ Plat Rev2, Fortron 530w P/S. the P/S came DOA so i ran out and got a no name 500w from microcenter. and i got problems now! This system will barley run 3DMark05..i get like a 3000 score now! I am Really bent! Anyone have any clues as to what might be wrong?

Oh, I do plan to OC, but havnt done it yet...and i did flash Mobo bios to latest 1.41.

i concider this file to be the most stable GT bios of all the GT bios files ive tested. it has all the usual tweaks for LE6800 compatability.

Did you reformat your hard drive? When you switch the system around like that windows is going to be messed up. I had the same problem as you are having. My benchmarks went down when I upgraded my system and I got tons of errors. Reformatting fixed all of that. Good luck.

sorry for no update, i took the 6800 GT, copper heatsink, farcry, doom 3, 50 evga bucks for $25
running good so far optimal came up with 422/1.14 right out of box but was a little too hot. il let u know how it goes.

I havnt had the chance to reply, get my LE tomorrow and my system has no card in it currently. I am on my mom's 333. The reason the guy said he was getting rid of the card was because he wanted to go SFF and build a silent system. He couldnt do that with the evga HSF. He said he runs it with a 1.3v GT bios and clocks of 350/1100. He said he has never really overclocked the card because he didnt feel it was worth the few extra fps. The guy had a heatware rating of 31 and a few other credentials. Hopefully he is trustworthy and I am not getting a card that does slower than 415/1.13.

i have confirmed this is a 66.93 driver bug.
nothing i did caused this
the LE-GT bios files dont have this bug.

79 frickin pages. Reminds me of the zombies from Dawn of the Dead that were still walking the earth after a couple of months. I can't believe it.

Anyways, I got my rig finally built and the whole thing is geared towards making my just opened eVGA 6800LE overclock as much and as steady as possible, everything fro the Athlon 3000+ 90nm to the OCZ EL Plat Rev2 to the MSi K8N Neo2 Plat and my Turbo Deluxe 510W from PC Power & Cooling is simply begging me to finally put Thugs' and Aeonic's Bios to the test.

I'll follow up with it after I've settled everythig in tonight.
