I ordered the NV5 and have e-mailled arctic cooling to get the replacement plate so that it can vent out the back. It has been 4 days now and I still have not heard back from them. I*'ve read here that there is indeed a replacement plate for the ultra/LE. Hopefully I hear from them soon.
I also asked new egg if they had them and they had no idea what I was talking about. (Probably cause it's a teenage girl answering the phone.) But she said that if there was an adapter, they didn't have it and as far as they know, Arctic Cooling isn't including it in any of their NV5 kits. :-(

Arctic-cooling is located over seas and it takes them awhile to respond to emails for some reason. I recieved my warranty cooler couple weeks ago, and emailed them thanking them for the replacement. I just recieved their email earlier this morning thanking me for the business. So give them some time to respond to the email, they will get arround to it. I can tell you that they FOR SURE have the single plate dvi adapter because I have it! The guy that helped me with my warranty was named Stanley, maybe this will help. Goodluck!!

Aonic has updated his ISO image, however it does seem to work for me.
The correct files are on the CD (win viewed in windows) however when I boot from the CD, I see all the old files from the Ultra disk rather than the correct files from the GT disk... very strange.

youre gonna sucker me into commenting on this arent you?

the answer is ~ its pretty close for us Ultra users.
the copper HS is easier to install with a much lower chance of messing it up.
the eVGA copper HS does not void your waranty.

I realize that these guys are Swiss Germans, but you need at least one person who can speak english. (and Stanley "Cheung" sounds more Chinese than Swiss) They advertised this as a HS/Fan for the 6800 series, and it is incompatible. Hopefully I can get them to send a replacement bracket. Any ideas?

I couldn't do this up unti now even though I've had my 6800LE since October. But I've used THUGS newest LE to GT 1.4V BIOS from 11/29/04 and I flashed it sucessfully, removed than reinstalled 66.93 drivers (then I did 66.91 drivers) then rebuilt Rivatuner database and it obviously reads 350/1100, however neither Rivatuner nor nVidia utility can overclock this card for me without tellimg me that it fails the safety test.

What am I missing here? I get too discouraged when I try to comb thru the 80+ pages here and the 60+ pages at BE. Dumb it down for little ole me.

that is a known issue with all 6800 cards.
we dont have a real fix for it.

try downclocking the mem to 1000mhz.

Make sure you are using only one overclock utility at a time. possibly you are having conflicts with two loaded up? So you can't overclock at all? or are you able to increase by only a small 5-10MHz amount?

Cannot overclock in the slightest bit. Nor can it auto-detect overclock, it just stays there at 350/1100 at a comfy 55C

use PowerStrip, none of those programs work for me either. Powerstrip doesn't second guess your settings, you can go crazy and OC the crap out of it at a hardware based level rather than software.

Got a problem I posted earlier about 3dmark's load screens acting funny and warping and not displaying properly. Well, half life 2 and the suffering do the same thing now. this happens at 350/1.1 and 450/1.2 on either the GT or Ultra bios. I tried using the stock bios at 350/1.1 and I had no issues what so ever but I dont believe performance is the same on the stock bios. It looks like I am having heavy texture artifacts with either of those bios. has this happened to anyone else? should i just try modifying the stock bios for my clocks and voltage?

NFSU 2 and Doom3 and Aquamark3 run fine with no artifacting or "texture warping" at any clock.

I would stay away from 450MHz on the core, you are asking for problems. The std ULTRA is 400MHz core and 425MHz is as high as I would dare go. Make sure you have the latest Chipset drivers for your motherboard, that cleared up a problem I was having in some apps, which I would have sworn looked like they could only be caused by a bad GPU.

I think the 6800 GPU is the pickiest of any ever made. Especially when you start pushing it for performance.

i reflashed to a bios based off the LE--> Ultra and did the whole driver thing and such. 3dmark ran fine at 400/1.1. i started to run the program a 2nd time and the menus looked ok so I exited out of 3dmark and opened up The Suffering to check the ingame textures. the game was still screwed up so I went back to 3dmark to test it there and then the menus and loading screens started to do the retarded thing again. i dont understand it. my only guess is that the suffering is opengl like half life 2. i havnt had any probs with my direct3d games. i am at loss of what to do.

i do have the latest video drivers, chipset drivers, windows updates, etc etc.

it isnt temps, i checked them. it has to be the card.... i really dont want to give up this card because I have only had it a few days but it is beginning to look like trading my bfg for it was a mistake.

edit: even a modified GT bios set to 325/1.1 made no difference

For what it's worth I installed my new BFG 6800GT OC today and tt's running like butter. I got a 4700 in 3dmark05 with stock settings, no pausing in games like I had with the LE.
I'm glade I got rid of the LE.

Well, Im just going to go with the eVGA copper heatsink. Odered one allready, but damn 10$ for shipping thats sure is high. I also bought the AS Ceramique Premium to use with the mem as I dont want to try my luck with AS5 as I heard it can fry my card. I will get back with the results as everything gets here. Im also planing on reversing my airflow and putting a 120 in the back under my card.

Try reloading just the AGP chipset driver.

Just to update from my little snag earlier the other day about flashing the BIOS and then not being able to overclock. It had something to do with my mobo drivers being updated, I built my rig completely new from the ground up with this video card in mind.

You're now looking at the proud owner of the second highest 3Dmark05 score from an Athlon64 3000+ computer rig running ~1.8GHz (the top guy has an overclocked X800), and I still intend to overclock the card bit by bit to see where it finally stands (its currently at 425/1147 and it stays at a comfy 53c idle/58c load)
