Yea I have heard that it is severely religion-biased on e-Harmony. I guess if you go and change your religion to "christianity" (or some derivative thereof) you get a sh!t-ton of matches. If you say "athiesm", they put your profile in the e-garbage pail.
They didnt have catholic as a choice... is that christian? I just put no religion or beliefs.
Catholic = Christian.
I predict, if you're able to add this to your profile, you will get tons of matches.
Hmmm..I wonder if I would really get more matches if I change from Athiest/Agnostic to Christian.
Try "Spiritual but not religious" if it's listed as an option. That's what I did, anyway, and it worked out OK for me. You can believe in practically anything and still be considered "spiritual", and it makes for a good conversation topic while you're getting to know folks online or on the phone.
That said, if you're certain in your mind that God (or any other deity or supernatural force for that matter) never existed, I wouldn't change it. I like to be a little more open minded about such things, though.
Anyway.... Does ANYONE on ATOT have an eHarmony success story? I'm starting to be convinced that the 20 or so people that they show on the commercials are their ONLY successful matches out of their millions of applicants at this point
I have a friend who met his fiance through eharmony. He keeps pushing me to join eharmony too.Originally posted by: ultimatebob

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. I think that Spidey got a decent girlfriend out of it once, but that's the only ATOT/YAGT success story that I've heard of.

To those saying it's religious or targetted towards the lower class of society.
a) I am more athiest than a russian communist in the 60's
b) I live in the Bay Area and most of my matches are in SF
Face it. You have such impairments of your character that a computer can't even land you a date.
Agreed. I've used eHarmony with great success. 15-20 matches delivered each week. It was like "fresh dates delivered to your door"
OP - read your personality profile - that should explain it to you on why you are so unattractive. If anything it is targeted to the more successful people in life.
I'm guessing...
"doesn't like people"
"has difficulty taking control"
"unsure of himself"
"not very ambitious"
"has trouble listening"
seriously...seek help. You can be fixed.

internet dating websites are a waste of time and life.
Eharmony is the worst, you waste an hour on that stupid ass test, then half the matches it sends you there are no pictures, and the other half are all kind of unattractive.
Oh, on top of that each match you have to play another round of stupid 20 questions to uhh move to the next level or whatever. Many aren't subscribers so you'll never hear anything anyways.
With the time and money involved, it's not any more successful than just going out and meeting people. Especially if you're decent looking, well dressed, not a freak, etc. you'll never ever be able to show that over the internet.
I'm not a undergrad student anymore, but especially for anyone who is still in school don't waste your time and life on it, just go get involved in some student cultural or activity group, be friendly and smile.
