I didnt pay at all, never got to that point.

Yea I have heard that it is severely religion-biased on e-Harmony. I guess if you go and change your religion to "christianity" (or some derivative thereof) you get a sh!t-ton of matches. If you say "athiesm", they put your profile in the e-garbage pail.

They didnt have catholic as a choice... is that christian? I just put no religion or beliefs.

Catholic = Christian.

I predict, if you're able to add this to your profile, you will get tons of matches.

Hmmm..I wonder if I would really get more matches if I change from Athiest/Agnostic to Christian.

Try "Spiritual but not religious" if it's listed as an option. That's what I did, anyway, and it worked out OK for me. You can believe in practically anything and still be considered "spiritual", and it makes for a good conversation topic while you're getting to know folks online or on the phone.

That said, if you're certain in your mind that God (or any other deity or supernatural force for that matter) never existed, I wouldn't change it. I like to be a little more open minded about such things, though.

Anyway.... Does ANYONE on ATOT have an eHarmony success story? I'm starting to be convinced that the 20 or so people that they show on the commercials are their ONLY successful matches out of their millions of applicants at this point

I'm starting to feel the same. I have not heard of a single successful Eharmony.com story other than the crap show on TV.

But I do know 3 people in REAL Life that told me about their real life success with Match.com

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. I think that Spidey got a decent girlfriend out of it once, but that's the only ATOT/YAGT success story that I've heard of.
I have a friend who met his fiance through eharmony. He keeps pushing me to join eharmony too.

Face it. You have such impairments of your character that a computer can't even land you a date.

Agreed. I've used eHarmony with great success. 15-20 matches delivered each week. It was like "fresh dates delivered to your door"

OP - read your personality profile - that should explain it to you on why you are so unattractive. If anything it is targeted to the more successful people in life.

I'm guessing...
"doesn't like people"
"has difficulty taking control"
"unsure of himself"
"not very ambitious"
"has trouble listening"

seriously...seek help. You can be fixed.
Yeah but Spidey aren't you like 40? Easy pickings at your age...

You can't go back and change it. I guess you have to retake the entire exam again with a new email address.

I would have expected that kind of reply so I've never even considered it (well, that and I'm not really looking right now). I did it after this post just to see and it turns out they can match me. I'm really surprised.

35, easy pickings are the ladies in their late 20s/early 30s. They know what they want by then and have finally grown up. Some of them were very attractive/successful and looking for a good man.

Although it does get more difficult to meet "quality" people and hence why I gave it a shot. Met a wonderful lady and would recommend it to anybody.

This one chic for her first contact just kept going on and on about her ex-husband. That's all she talked about. She was promptly blocked.

That's got to be the funniest post I've read in a while. Thanks, now I have to go wash the Dr. Pepper from my keyboard!

OP, did they at least send you a free fleshlight?

i love that 1

got lotsof poon of it

Lots of VD too?

back to topic....

try okcupid.com? Free, and seems to have more of the geeky-types.

Don't bother with match.com unless you see lots of women who are your type in your area.

He should "seek help" to "be fixed" because he didn't have luck with an online dating service?

Interesting thought process there...

LOL!

I met my wife on Match.com. When I first saw her, I knew I had to at least talk to this girl. I saw she was online and sent her an instant message. Apparently she was deluged with instant messages as soon as she logged into the website. So yeah, pretty much 10 men to 1 woman on that site.

But hell, I married her so I can't complain too much.

Meeting women through dating sites is no less lame than meeting them in bars or church, or wherever the hell else you meet women.

I spent years in bars, dated lots of women for a week or two before I got sick of them. Plenty of one night stands just for some nookie. I joined a dating website and met the perfect woman for me within a few months. I'll vouch for internet dating any day over the usual venues.

internet dating websites are a waste of time and life.

Eharmony is the worst, you waste an hour on that stupid ass test, then half the matches it sends you there are no pictures, and the other half are all kind of unattractive.

Oh, on top of that each match you have to play another round of stupid 20 questions to uhh move to the next level or whatever. Many aren't subscribers so you'll never hear anything anyways.

With the time and money involved, it's not any more successful than just going out and meeting people. Especially if you're decent looking, well dressed, not a freak, etc. you'll never ever be able to show that over the internet.

I'm not a undergrad student anymore, but especially for anyone who is still in school don't waste your time and life on it, just go get involved in some student cultural or activity group, be friendly and smile.
