Anyone know how much Match.com is?

I tried Match.com about two years ago. Spent some time making my profile, even had a couple of female friends review it and didnt get one single response.
I guess its just me.

We need your pics.

When you say response do you mean you just waited for people to contact you or you emailed a bunch of people and never heard back? Because I've found that women rarely take the initiative online just as in real life. On match I sent maybe 50 people emails, and heard back from 15 or so, 5 of whom I was interested in.

I was the one who emailed first. First because only as a member can you do that. Most women on Match are not members, but if they are contacted by a member they are allowed to communicate.

I don't think that's true. I am fairly certain you have to pay to read or send any emails on match. That is what I have been told by a few of the dates anyway.

You can sign up as a free member and view profiles, you just can't contact them until you pay. A paying female can contact you as a free member and you can reply back for free.

Like I said, I've been told that is false. Why would someone tell me they couldn't read their emails without paying otherwise? Obviously the person who sent the email paid.

How funny. I'm a socially retarded hermitic misanthrope and I got like 6-7 matches just in my county. I don't feel so bad anymore*

*then again wasn't there a poll on here a while back that showed like 40% of anandtech were virgins past the age of 20? Technology and attractive pleasurable looks don't often show up together I've noticed.

<-Laughs at the ugly computer geeks with no hopes of ever procreating.

Are you recently divorced or in the process of divorce? They reject people that are still in the process of divorce etc

nope, not even close to marriage. I didnt fuss with any of the answers. I tried to be as honest as i could obviously honesty does not help you.

I think eHarmony is targeted towards non-liberal family oriented non-Godless women.

So...that's trailer park girls that had children at 16 right?

Match is just like real life, its a huge fvcking sausage party where the women can afford to be picky and men sort of take what they can get.

I met my wife on match.com when I used a free 2 week promotion they had.

Yea I have heard that it is severely religion-biased on e-Harmony. I guess if you go and change your religion to "christianity" (or some derivative thereof) you get a sh!t-ton of matches. If you say "athiesm", they put your profile in the e-garbage pail.

To those saying it's religious or targetted towards the lower class of society.

a) I am more athiest than a russian communist in the 60's
b) I live in the Bay Area and most of my matches are in SF

Face it. You have such impairments of your character that a computer can't even land you a date.

Catholic = Christian.

I predict, if you're able to add this to your profile, you will get tons of matches.

You think 90% of the South are trailer trash that vote republican. In reality, 45% of the South vote Democrat, and most they are comprised of 1) minorities and 2) trailer trash. 1) and 2) both have similar goals in milking the system for all it's worth. Of course there's 3) ignorant elitest wannabe Californian fake intellectual who worships Castro and considers Stalin their hero.

Hmmm..I wonder if I would really get more matches if I change from Athiest/Agnostic to Christian.

Why lie about your religion when you'll have to live a lie by pretending to be religious? It never works out and the girls will see right through you, especially if they're hardcore enough. Your cover is blown after 1 question about a verse in the Bible. LOL

Agreed. I've used eHarmony with great success. 15-20 matches delivered each week. It was like "fresh dates delivered to your door"

OP - read your personality profile - that should explain it to you on why you are so unattractive. If anything it is targeted to the more successful people in life.

I'm guessing...
"doesn't like people"
"has difficulty taking control"
"unsure of himself"
"not very ambitious"
"has trouble listening"

seriously...seek help. You can be fixed.

I didn't say anything about the south. I don't know any trailer people from there.

Try "Spiritual but not religious" if it's listed as an option. That's what I did, anyway, and it worked out OK for me. You can believe in practically anything and still be considered "spiritual", and it makes for a good conversation topic while you're getting to know folks online or on the phone.

That said, if you're certain in your mind that God (or any other deity or supernatural force for that matter) never existed, I wouldn't change it. I like to be a little more open minded about such things, though.

Anyway.... Does ANYONE on ATOT have an eHarmony success story? I'm starting to be convinced that the 20 or so people that they show on the commercials are their ONLY successful matches out of their millions of applicants at this point
