How did I make that up? You came across as spoiled to virtually everyone in this thread, and not because of my slanderous lies against you. Don't say that it didn't bother you, when you said right in your op "It just seems real odd to me, and it kinda aggravates me".

Searched and searched for the Target story -- can't find it.
It as about a year ago and basically an ATOT'er was shopping at Target, browsing in some isle where some little kid was practicing some punching moves. He got a little too close to the kid, and the kid went ninja on his groin section -- sending him to the floor writhing in pain. He eventually regained his senses, only to see his wife or girlfriend laughing at him. The guy's write-up of the story was funnier than heck... a definate ATOT classic.

Yes, of course I want to play it and that's why I'm kind of TO'd about it, we really don't have any other games to play right now. He even bought controllers for me and my bro so we could play with him when we go over, which was a real nice thing to do. I'm not dying to play it ASAP or I would of bought one a long time ago, I can wait till Xmas easily, that's not what bothers me. I just think it'd be a fun to play. So it is kind of selfish of me, but it seems like kind of a crazy thing to do. He's been really wanting one for months now too, why not just go pick it up and play now?

Another thing, his birthday is in a week or so, so it seemed like he could of just got this as a Birthday Present if he wanted to get it sooner.

And, Also, another weird thing is he's been waiting for a good price on it, I've been helping him out with that in showing him deals. I mentioned the Amazon deal on black friday (or cyber monday maybe) that will sell the 360 for $100. Instead, he decides to buy it retail from Bestbuy so he could get an additional 20% off accessories...big whoop. He also bought two games (Saint's Row/Call of Duty 3) after I've showed him that everyone thinks Gears of War is awesome.

I'm curious to see other's thoughts on this.

I would say u are indeed very selfish to even think about complaining, since thats what your doing right now. He rightfully paid for it and it's his decision to wait. He even bought u controllers, which I bet u didn't even pay for. I don't see anything wrong about waiting till christmas, since thats what makes the day exciting. Go get your own 360 damn't.

Well, Like i've said, before i made this thread I just couldn't understand that method of giving gifts. So I raised the question to get other people's ideas on it. I thought some people might understand the way I was looking at it. Though since everyone got really defensive, I thought, "hmm, alright, guess it is a common thing people do for Xmas". I didn't think it was a reason for anyone to get all pissed. I'm still wondering how that offended so many people. People are really getting the wrong idea about this. I would know if I made a thread to deserve all the bad replies, and this certainly shouldn't of been a thread like that. I have no regret in making the thread, people took it the wrong way. I imagined people would say "Eh, it's not really that uncommon" instead of it being "Yes, some families do indeed do that, fuckhead.". I didn't want to have to learn about it that way, what a prick =p. I had just never heard of that method before. Using words like TO'd and aggravated weren't a good choice, and I shouldn't of even mentioned the Gears of War thing. I just thought that Gears of War would be a must own game for the 360, but I don't care that he got other games instead. The whole OP wasn't too well thought out, I was frikkin tired when I wrote it, but so what, even how it is it doesn't deserve everyone insulting me. I was just trying to provide as many details of the situation as I could. I think people were more mad at me insulting other posters on the first page, like I said before, I'm trying to speak my mind more lately, because I always hold back, and it's probably not a good idea to start doing that, but I will probably keep doing it anyways, to some extent.

For the last time, I don't CARE if i never get to play his 360 or if he takes it back or something. I don't care if I never play the 360 in my lifetime, and it doesn't bother me at all. It was just frustrating at first because I didn't understand that method of buying gifts. Now I don't think it's as odd as I originally thought, but that's just my opinion anyways. Yes, If he does open up his 360 I will expect to play it, not only because he bought us controllers, but just because we're friends. He's not going to have to ask me to play Wii when i get that, we'll just play it, no questions asked, and I will buy him a controller.

Everything that has needed to be said has been said up to this point, so you don't need to keep bumping it with "Just let this thread die!" posts. I'm sorry it went the way it did, and i'm still really baffled by the whole thing, but this thread won't go on forever, I'm real tired of explaining everything.

If you read any of my posts besides the OP you'd of noticed I don't care about the 360, other than I think it'd be fun to play it, and i've mentioned several times I could easily go all my life without playing one at all. Wasn't the cause of all the problems, but certainly didn't help any. I still don't think the OP was that out of line. It sent the wrong message. But, many of my explanation posts seem to go unnoticed, if people read those I think they could understand the question I was initially asking. Just look at the name of the thread, all i was asking if it seemed weird to anyone else, and everyone got pissed. I still think everyone way overreacted to it, even if I did say all the things people wrongfully accused me of. Stumps is still saying I'm crying about not having an Xbox360, which is just total bull. I don't firggin care about the 360. So hopefully I don't get a bad rep around here for this thread, I don't really care if I did anyways, because I felt it was just a normal kind of thread that everyone turned upside down. I'm still going to post when I'm drowsy or drunk or both in the future, even if I regret it the next day - I usually won't say something I don't mean even if i am drowsy or drunk though.
