Eid Mubarak to us all. Years ago, I got to experience the entire month of Ramadan in Morrocco. It was fascinating on so many levels. At nightfall, our Morroccon buddies would take us up into the hills in the old quarter and through a trap door into the back of a pub where we'd all partake of this thick, uber nourishing "stew" meant to break the daily fast.
Then, we'd go back out to the public room where old heads from the countryside, muscians all, would slowly filter in and start playing this transcendant, trippy, wave like multi-rhythmic music that would go on unbroken for hours. Nothing quite like it, and one of the finer ways to end your day that I can think of.
