DUH, everyone knows the Earth is 6,000 years old and Noah only had to put a few dinosaurs on the Ark, not all the species. FFS.

Bah...dinosaurs don't exist...and they never did. Satan planted the bones/fossils just to spread the seeds of doubt.
EVERYONE knows this.

LA Rams player William Hays belives dinosaurs are a hoax but mermaids are real.

only a dumb-ass jock can graduate from university and believe this.

Mermaids and Dinosaurs[edit]
In December 2015, Hayes received media attention for his disbelief in dinosaurs. He claimed, "No, I don't believe dinosaurs existed. Not even a little bit." He continued, stating "I believe there is more of a chance you will find a mermaid than you will a dinosaur because we find different species in the water all the time."[3] According to his former teammate and friend Chris Long, "He thinks archaeologists place bones underground like a parent would place Easter eggs. They just planted them. It's some large conspiracy. He does not believe that dinosaurs ever existed and he thinks that mermaids are real. I love dinosaurs, so we have a big point of contention."[4]

In a 2016 segment on HBO's Hard Knocks, it was revealed that Hayes is a firm believer in mermaids. According to head coach Jeff Fisher, "I remember him getting really excited about the potential for moving out here [from St. Louis to Los Angeles] because he knew he would be closer to mermaids here on the West Coast."[5]

OP, did you just read one of those pop-science physics books? I feel like the Dunning Kruger effect is taking hold here.

There are so many holes in his theory its amazing. Just to name a couple:

1. E = MC^2 right? Well, a photon has no mass. So then it should have no energy if that equation is right. However, we walk outside and photons warm our skin. So they must have energy, and the equation is quite obviously dead wrong. How can no one have caught this by now?

2. Einstein says that a clock moving at a high velocity (but no acceleration) will tick slower than a clock moving at a low velocity. HOWEVER, he also says someone or something in a high velocity environment but under no acceleration could not even tell, or prove, that he or it were in a high velocity environment - they might as well be in a low velocity environment. Those to are completely contradictory.

Am I the only one that things about these things? Seriously. When his equations and theories are formally declared wrong, remember, you heard it here first.

  1. E=MC^2 makes the previously unknown connection between mass and energy, that they are different forms of the same thing. You can think of it as telling us how much energy is tied up in an amount of mass. You are "dead wrong" to conclude that the equation requires everything with energy to have mass.
  2. Einstein says that the rate at which time passes as measured by a clock in a reference frame that is moving with respect to a second reference frame will appear to be slower when viewed from that second reference frame than rate of time passage as measured by a clock that is stationary in that second reference frame. This is true regardless of which of the two reference frames you chose for the observer.
No "holes in his theory" have been found yet; you should consider the possibility of there being holes in your understanding. Plenty of online resources...

Well, it's about fucking time. More than 8 decades of meticulous scientific studies, experimental investigations, and thousands and thousands of peer-reviewed papers couldn't do what AT member Salty Nuts has done in a single bath salts-inspired post from his suburban garret. You have managed to prove Einstein wrong.

Congrats, man. Can I buy you a beer?

Please don't. He I mean we already suffer from his brain damage. Do we really need yet another drunk poster?

Dude...don't be stoopid...the earth is 6000 years old, not 3000. I know this because Jeezus told me so in person when he appeared on my french toast.

Wait till you walk by a burning bush! God can create a whole universe but when it comes time to communicate with humans suddenly his IQ drops to that of an overripe avocado.

1) The full equation is E²=(m_0*c²)²+(pc)², where p is the momentum.
2) If I am in a box moving through space at high speeds relative to you, I'll see my clock pass normally and you'll see your clock pass normally. If we meet up, our clocks will not agree.

This is called time dilation. It's caused by your pupils being dilated after the use of some chemicals, for lack of a better term, of questionable origin. Just kidding about that last part.

Dude...disregard the burning bush conspiracy. Someone smelled GAWD smoking a joint around the campfire and thought it was something else.

  1. .

The faster the moving clock travels, relative to slower one, the slower the first clock will operate relative to the slower one. If the faster object could achieve the speed of light , time on that object theoretically would stop. I always thought if one could travel faster than that , time would go backward. But then the speed of light is a limit to speed so far.
Until an Intel cpu achieves Warp Drive of course. Then hello childhood!
Huuuuumm- that scenario solves part of the enigmatic ending of 2001, A Space Odyssey !
I'm stunned, all these years wondering what it meant,, and now this possibility!

I'm waiting to hear from somebody who has an actual degree in physics.
I took some classes toward a minor in physics, but I got sick of doing Fourier transforms by hand.

Dude, you are clearly a dunce. The amazing fact is that virtually nothing that Einstein said has been shown to be wrong. In fact, many many years after his assertions they are again and again proved, often for the first time by elaborate, expensive, difficult methods.
I took some classes toward a minor in physics, but I got sick of doing Fourier transforms by hand.
I got to upper division physics (it was my major), but I became disillusioned when the miraculous qualities of existence gave way to abstract mathematics virtually entirely and I lost interest. The things going on around me suggested I should look elsewhere. Eventually I did graduate (after dropping out a few times) in mathematics.
They seem to think that Bob Dylan will bow on one knee. The Nobel prize people will be calling him crazy if he doesn't.
He doesn't give a damn what they call him.

As far as the Ark goes, I heard today that there are, as of today, some 40,000 species of spiders that have been described. The Ark must have been a weird place.

Anything faster than speed of light?

Yes, there is. It's space expansion.

For the OP or anyone else who is interested PBS has a YouTube series called SpaceTime which does a great job of explaining these theories in easy to understand language.

In my experience, that's every single STEM field. They lure you in with promises of decent jobs and interesting work, then all they teach you is how to do math (by hand, of course) because "everything is math."

You nerds and your math. No one cares about math! Or particles and molecules.

But then I'm a biologist.
