I think BMC means that he does not do math-projects and therefore would be back to E@H - did I get it right, Christian?
I may get things wrong sometimes ...

oh, I don't like math projects either

I prefer life sciences/biology and physics

My preferences:
physics (Einstein, seti, DPAD, LHC)
life sciences (oh, there are so many .... )
and climate (is that physics or life science ... or is it a life-or-not-life-matter )

I haven't tried DPAD yet, anything special I should know? As far as I know it's similar to LHC (which I like).

Hehe, you got me right there Peter. No math projects for me!


DPAD is indeed a bit like LHC, but the difference is, that the LHC is already being build, while the Neutrino Factory - the research object of DPAD - is still in the funding phase and there are no concrete plans as of yet, when it's going to be build, as far as I know and if I remember correctly.

OTOH: DPAD runs on any old computer - which LHC does not (LHC is for BOINC).
I run DPAD on a laptop (PIII @ 600 MHz) and on an old Celeron and this produces some 14 000 Mpts/day.
In BOINC the PIII would not touch it and the RAC for the celeron is terrible ...
