Actually, the information is from Take Two's own financial reports where they say it will not be out until the second fiscal quarter of next year (feb-april).

I HATE THEM : ( I REALLY DO ! I WANT MY ELDER SCROLL NOW ... THE game had so much chance of woooing everyone with its graphic but 2006 will just loose its touch since alot of Good looking game are coming out about the same time. I wanted my 7800GTX and X1800XL to die playing that game @ 1600x1200 AA 4x HDR FULL with SHADER 3.0

but the graphic man ... none of the game excite my G70 and R520 like ELderscroll 4. Stuff fear , HL loast coast , Quake 4 , COD 2 or FEAR. I want my Elderscroll now...

Gothic 2 was better than Morrowind. Would make my decision difficult if Gothic3 and Oblivion came out at the same time.

I loved the gothic games,I would buy both,in a way I'm glad it is delayed, gives me more time to upgrade my PC and for them to do more bug testing.

This really blows. This was the one game I was looking forward to buying. And I've already started upgrading my rig for it. I don't even know why I bother sometimes. I think I might go bargin bin hunting again.

I had a feeling it wasn't going to be on schedule. I wonder what this does to the 360 since this was going to be its big launch title.

Oblivion may end up being a huge disappointment as an RPG anyway. I'm sure they've dumbed it down to make it more palatable for the 360 crowd.

This wasn't going to be the "big" launch title for the 360. You can make the argument that the 360 doesn't have a "big" launch title. They have a lineup of solid titles in different genres. What this does do however is not give them a RPG title at launch.

I am also worried the game will be dumbed down for the console, but I don't think that bethseda will do that. It was in development for the PC well before the Xbox360 business came along, despite all the xbox fanboys trying to convince you otherwise. So if anyone gets the sloppy port syndrome is going to be the xbox side.

What does irk me is the game might be all but finished on the PC, but delayed due to issues with the Xbox version. Bethseda said they will only release them in tandem. This is sheer conjecture though since bethseda's updates lately haven't had anything worth reading about. ("Oooo! Oblivion soundtrack released? Who cares?")
