I know I'll get a ton of the "real men use blades" - type answers on this, but I'm posting anyway. I'm looking for a good electric shaver that is under about $120. Currently I use a Mach 3 Turbo, and if I get a good shave, I hack the crap out of my face. I shave right after I shower, and let the shaving cream soak on my face for a little bit, so I know my face is "adequately wet". Frankly, I'm just fed up with the blade and need a good electric. I have no preference as to the round (Norelco) or linear (screen) types. I would like one that will function wet though. The Norelco advantage ones are out, since I had one and got a bad rash from the lotion it uses (I seem to be somewhat allergic to Nivea products, I've tried a few other of their products, and get rashes on my face from them). Any recommendations?

I shave with a broken vodka bottle and rinse off with drano.

I actually use a Norelco lift & cut without the lotion, I like it alot.

You should shave before you get into the shower.

As for a good electric shaver, I don't know, maybe Schick makes one?

I never had good luck with electrics, myself. The Mach 3 has treated me really well... hope that whatever solution you get works out well for you.

I have a norelco quadra something, it doesn't shave as close as blades, but the simplicity and ease it provides far outweighs its shortfall.

I just picked up one of those Panasonic Linear Wet/Dry's too, the ES8092NC. It's like $104 shipped from Drugstore after coupon. Very nice razor.

if you don't need the wet/dry feature or the pivoting head, the es8017 or 8019 have the same triple blade pro curve and linear motor. got one off ebay for ~36 shipped.

That's a big negative on that advice, Captain. You should always shave after you've showered. The hot water and steam softens the beard hairs and opens the pores, allowing the razor to pass with less friction. Less friction equals less irritation.

anyone used the new Remington Titanium Smart System self cleaning shaver? Remington is making some big woop-dee-doo about having Titanium blades. I'm wondering if the new blades are that much better, and is the self cleaning thing just a gimmick? I use a Gillette M3powar! blade, but the Braun & Remington self cleaning ones I saw @ Target have caught my interest.
