That's the basic deal, here's how it works. All EB's just got shipped an entire pack (500+) coupon sheets, with each of the eight deals per sheet. We hand them out to customers, they can then take advantage of the AUGUST 8th specials. ONE DAY ONLY! It's on a thursday, 2 days after LOTR. The dvd coupon is for ONE disc only. One coupon per person. Sorry, but hey, bring a few friends and do individual sales for maximum trade in savings. The video card one ain't bad either if you need to upgrade. If the 50 dollar rebate on the Ti4400 this weekend isn't restricted to Best Buy only, you could realistically pricematch BB to EB and get a Ti4400 retail out-the-door for 219 minus the 50 dollar rebate. Just a thought.

Okay, this sounds like a great deal and the perfect opportunity to get rid of this Shrek game (don't ask...) and my regular edition Memento and Almost famous DVDs... but:

1. Is the free Oddworld new or pre-played (not that it matters--I'm just curious)?

2. Do we have to actually buy something to receive the coupon, or could I probably get one if I ask?

3. If they give me a coupon for a sale offer that I don't want, could I exchange it for a coupon for an offer that I do want?

4. I know the coupons are one per customer, but if I wind up with 3 coupons, can I just go in by myself on the 8th and get all 3 of the offers?

I just wish that they had reasonably-priced vidcards to start with... My brother's Gf2MX200 PCI that he bought for $105(tax incl) there 6 months ago(when the pricewatch price was something like 50) is staring me in the face whenever he starts up WC3. Might make good PM-fodder when combined w/ a coupon at another retail chain tho.

2. No, you don't need to buy anything. Our EB started handing them out yesterday, but YMMV. Just ask an employee and they should be able to get you one if they are not handing them out.

3. It is a coupon sheet. You will receive all the coupons.

4. You can use all the coupons yourself, just not more than 1 of the same coupon.

Ok, I went by EB today....they said they didn't have the coupons, but then the guy came up to me 5 minutes later and said they found them.

You CAN trade in 10 DVD's for 100 bucks with the coupon, so I'll prob trade a few in. I'm sure there will be restrictions though.

I also asked about my Super Mario Sunshine question, and they said it's "trade 2 in, get Mario free"....but restrictions apply. I asked what that meant and he said basically he has to scan the titles in to see if they meet requirements. He also said that older games most likely won't work.
Guess I won't be doing that then....

This is just bad management and communication down to the lower levels of store associates. Corporate directives go out and everybody who works in the store is supposed to hear them, whether you work five or fifty hours a week.
