Went and picked up my coupons after reading this thread. The guy had no idea about the coupons, but he located them after looking behind the counter.

Edit: I don't know what I'll do with a $100 credit from the DVDs, but the gift card sounds like a good idea.

hey why would you go for the 2 dvds for LOTR, or Spiderman (when it comes out). You can get $20 for those 2 dvds, and head over to Best Buy and pick it up for $15.99 or walmart for $15.88.

True, but that's $20 EB bucks/credit, not $20 cold hard cash.
One good DVD is worth two sucky DVDs anyday (especially those ones I picked up back in the hey days where DVDs were about 5-7 bucks a pop)

I called and asked EB they simply said dvd must be able to scan at register for 10 else it wont be.

The DVDs they take in for any of the deals must scan and match their SKU.

I'm pretty sure its not ANY dvd...Like in the LOTR trade in deal, I think they will only accept dvd's on their "list"....whatever is in that list I dont know. I think in the LOTR deal, it was no anime's, kung fu movies, and other cheapos.

Would it be worth it to purchase the Geforce4 ti4200 from them even after trading in 10 dvds and using the 30 dollar coupon. You can get the 4200 for $150 apparently at enpc. Why not just sell those dvd's at ebay you would be trading and buy it at enpc? Now this is assuming they don't accept those crappy 5 dollar dvds that some of you are going to attempt to trade in. I was thinking about trading in some mediocre movies in my collection like spawn, mortal kombat, etc...but I think that I would be better off ebaying off my dvds and getting the video card elsewhere. Isn't the card priced at $229.99? Do they have any other cards? I'm guessing you can't pricematch and use the coupon also.

They botched the LOTR DVD deal (letting tons of people trade 2 dvd's for a copy and then not having the DVD in stock when it came out)... what makes us think they can handle this without screwing it up? I mean... the jokers behind the counter will be required to work and not stand and talk to each other all day.

(The people that work at my local EB in Melbourne are not qualified to hold a position that deals with the public)

Yeah, same thing happened at the store I went to. They didn't get any copies in, but I complained since it's a lengthy drive and they told me to come pick it up. The guy said he'll go to another store and buy a copy and he did that but I had to wait like 20 minutes.

Guys, I understand your frustration. Really, I do. But, we (I am a part-time sales at EB) had no control over how many LOTR DVDs we recieved. The company was supposed to send enough DVDs to cover all pre-orders. They didn't.

The coupon very clearly states:: TRADE IN ANY DVD AND RECEIVE $10 IN TRADE-IN CREDIT

The key word here is - ANY -... any means ANYTHING.

In small print - see sales associate for complete details... my only guess is that he will explain that any means any! ANY! I will not leave until they take 10 of ANY of my dvd's I decide to trade in!!

Oh, and how will they botch this deal? They're gonna give us store credit, not some weird "Lord of the Rings DVD" (which I got from the BlockBuster Deal)
And they have unlimited Store Credit to give out.
