I just got $94.18 in store credit for the following

Payback (missing UPC)
MI2 (missing UPC)
Romeo must die (Canadian Disc came with free DVD player - holes punched in UPC)
lehtal weapon 4 (Canadian Disc came with free DVD player - holes punched in UPC)
US Marshalls (Canadian Disc came with free DVD player - holes punched in UPC)
The Mummy
The Patriot

7 DVDs came to $70 plus tax! about $76

then I traded in xbox Mad Dash Racing for $17 (used the $5 bonus coupon)

ODD WORLD deal stinks - the guy said that it was a staight up exchange, and not a free game. You just basically swap your game for OddWorld, what a crappy deal

The guy said that I could come back and use more coupons that were on the desk if I had more to sell.

Wow. Just traded 18 dvd (9 per store) for a total of $198 after taxes in 2 gift cards. Waiting/Hoping for Xbox to go down to $159 over Xmas. Had to go to 5 different EB. To find the right sales person who would take some of the dvds that did not scan.

Wow, you guys have really good luck with the DVDs. Out of the 3 EB's near me, none of them took DVDs that didn't show up in the database. No generic SKUs either.

Speaking of, I saw like 3 guys at Highland Mall today (Austin, TX), each with a stack of DVDs that they had bought from Best Buy or some place else for cheap. And it seemed like only 2 or 3 dvds out of each stack was usable towards credit. I felt really bad for them cuz they had to spend money and go elsewhere to try to buy cheap DVDs.

I wonder if one of them owned the pink Honda Prelude in the parking lot...

19 DVDs traded in (2 EBs): $205.20 in credit.
Decided not to wait: XBox out the door for $10 and change.
Look on employees' faces: Priceless.

Man did I cleanup my DVD collection today. I got rid of a load of titles that have SE's down the line and others that just do not make that grade A class of keepers. (but got at great deals of course from internet boom in 99 a la $10 off $10 coupons

Got rid of 41 titles and picked up GameCube, Joypad, Memory Card, Pre-purchased Mario Sunshine, Metroid and Zelda.

PS My mall has three EB's, go figure?? (EB, EBX, and Electronics Botique)

Went around 5:30pm today.
Walmart is in the same shopping mall, so i went into wallmart, bought some $5.88 dvds... accidentally bought one title twice though... brought them over to ebgames and got $85 in credit (one was duplicate title and the other loaded weapons (national lampoons or something) they wouldn't take so returned those back to walmart

Anyway, I was hoping to do it a gain, but when I was in the middle the guy goes "so where'd you get these, walmart or coconuts?" (I never even bothered to unwrap and take the prices off my "used" dvds, hehehe) ...so I didn't think he would want me coming back and doing it again...

So now I have an $85 Gift card that I don't think im going to use.
If anyone would like to buy it for $65 ($15 profit for me, $20 discount for you, which is fair enough, considering I wasted an hour of my time to do this then realizing I wasn't going to get enough credit to buy anything good) then let me know

This deal was scary good. I traded in 40 dvds for $425 in credit on gift cards, and I only spent about $125 for the dvds in the first place. I then purchased a TI4200 video card with the $30 off coupon, and enclave for Xbox and I still have $200 in gift cards. I even had 20 more dvds but I actually felt sorry for EB, so I didn't go through with it..........

Wow, seems like some of you guys really took advantage of this deal. I didn't really have time to find cheap DVDs and didn't want to risk them not being accepted. I did the Oddworld deal. I called in a local EBX and asked if they take Shrek for the trade-in, and the guy said no, and also no to Circus Maximus. So I called an EB a little bit farther away and they said that it's good for any Xbox game. So I stopped by and brought Shrek, for which I got $13 store-credit and also the brand-new Oddworld. I brought some cheap western DVD I found around the house but they told me it won't accept it, I told them it says any DVD but they didn't budge.

BTW, I went to two other Sam Goody's but they didn't carry the dirt cheap DVDs. Funny...I walked in and asked the lady if she had any "Dirt cheap DVDs" and she pointed them right out...I freakin scored on this one. Oh and the dude who traded in 48 DVDs and paid about $3.00 for each of them: where'd you get those DVDs and how many stores did you go to to trade all of them in? To be honest, your story sounds way too good to be true.

My friend and myself after hitting 3 EB return a total of 52 dvds.

49 of those were pokemon dvd purchused at dvdplanet for 4.88.
of the 49 anime, 34 of the pokemon were bought today at dvdplanet.
of the 49 anime, 15 were used ones.
Denial ratio was 6 out of 58. Scratch and dent and just pure unhappy rep that didnt want to take the DVDs.
Total of 3 out of 4 set of pokemon made the return. (I ended up with 1 brand new set and return the old set I had. Yes I like Pikachu)
Also was hitting for 4 return but was able to hit only 3 store in the allowed time of 1 and 1/2 hours.
1 out of the 3 set returned was made by my friend after I sold him 10 for regular price and in return his gf and him would help me make the return of the extra 7 pokemon for me.

My GF and myself made the 2 trips.
First store took about half an hours cause the rep was pretty pist off that so many people were returning junk to EB.
Second Store had great reps that even complimited my gf and myself about robbing thier store. Then told us that themself also rob the store by buying Virtual Fighter for 30 and returning it for store credit at 35.

My friends ordeal at third store was bad also. The reps gave them a hard time about getting something eventhough it was pretty much clear cut that store credit would have been sufficent as a trade. They bought a Game BOY ADVANCE and Mario. And I got the rest of my money.

Anyway here is the accounting.

52 dvd total would = 520 dollors in trade.

cosider everything at about 5 dollors (negating the 3 title which was bought under 10), then 520/2 would be = 260 earned for the 2 hour period total.

50 was given to my friend so my net for the day was 210. Thats about 110 dollors per hour.

I still have pokemon set. Which I am ok with. I cosider that neighter a lost or gain for the day. Since I had a set of pokemon to begin with.

Thanks EB and thanks to the guy who made this thread. I am a happy camper tonight.

Hahaha, funny stuff. Congrats to all who worked hard to make the profit!

I probably would've done some of this too, but had to work today.

well, I really lucked out...
I went to trade in about 30 junk dvds and the salesman was adding $10 to the trade in value of each dvd! So after finding 10 that they would accept, I had a credit of $158!

So I hit another store to trade in the rest. one movie, trial by jury scored me $20. So I stopped by a video store in the mall, and bought 2 more copies @ $8.99. I traded it in again with another 9 movies and scored another $154!

What I thought was odd, one store rejected basic instinct (old version) but the 2nd store accepted it.

I tried to hit a 3rd store, but that guy told me the other 2 stores made a mistake(this one mall has 2 eb's in it). So I was going to end up with only an $80 credit. By then I was down to movies I sort of wanted to keep, so I passed.

so not a bad day... $312 in credit for 20 lame movies that I don't think cost me more than $175 to buy in the first place!

LMAO Some of you guys scammed the hell out of this deal!!!

I played it far lower key...I have few DVDs I don't want, and I'm too lazy and uncomfortable to try and buy a boatload of cheapass DVDs hoping to resell them to EB. All I really wanted was WC3 for cheap.
So I took my coupons and I took my duplicate copy of Evagelion 0:1 and Crash and I went to get WC3 for $35.

After the rep got the OK from the manager that I could combine the 2 coupons, everyone working there proceeded to make fun of me for actually owning a copy of Crash.
When the embarassing merriment finally died down, I walked away with the collector's ed. WC3 for $35 and Tee Off! for DC for another $2.

I will note that they complained that my EVA disc wasn't in the database but the manager just said "That's OK!" *clickety-click* and away we went.

I traded in 10 actual dvds from my collection, but two of my friends each traded in 10 sealed dvds from walmart, at two different EBs. One EB was fine with it, the other one though, has a guy working at it who hates us (long story). When my first friend handed him the sealed dvds, he was suspicious. When my second friend handed them over, he got pissed. He was sure they had stolen them (his exact words). My friend finally whipped out his walmart reciept just to shut him up.

All in all, the deal turned out well. I got all pre-orders: Mario Sunshine, a PS2 network adaptor, Starfox, and Metroid (my friend did the same thing, only no network adaptor). My other friend got a new cube, eternal darkness, and a memory card. The deal cost me nothing except a bunch of movies I didn't want anymore.....definetly a hot deal for me.

Cool, im glad it worked out for everyone!!!

I think I scored the ultimate!

I traded in a dvd I bought frrom National Discount Warehouse for ..... 99CENTS!!!

IT was this cheezy "Jack FROST" animated movie dvd..

THey guy (who was super cool, and an xbox fan, concord pike DE ebgames)... took the dvd, scanned it, didnt come up, then said,

"Wait, their is another Jack Frost Movie, ill just punch it in as that movie..."
so he gave me $10 for that one....

I came out with $115 in credit, and got Chicken Run Dvd for $9.99, Emperors New Groove dvd for $9.99, Operation Flashpoint Preplayed for $19.99, xbox s controller, and NFL2k3 preorder!!!
Great deal!

All of the DVD's I traded in were actual movies, not B.S. DVD's I just bought from the dollar store or whatever. I wouldn't feel right doing what it looks like most people here did.

An interesting note, I watched what the usual trade-in values are for those movies I traded in, and EB really rips you off when you trade in. Most of them rang up for $1, with a few at $3.

Oh, and what's the deal with all the irate clerks working at EB? These guys really must take themselves and their jobs seriously to actually get angry at people for doing deals like this.
