All this would end if people stopped talking about Musk, and completely avoided the site. But people have no life of their own and spend their time like herd animals clicking the latest so called viral tweet. The illness is the need to belong because by yourself you feel worthless and all alone. Have you ever been deep in the mountains miles and miles away from any other living person, sat on the side of a mountain and been overcome by a feeling of terror. What is that fear?

That feeling you mentioned is called peace. Quietly contemplating the universe while siting in the heart of nature is an experience no one should miss.

Who said anything about wanting to end this? I think the only people who want this to end are those who financed the Twitter buyout.

Please clarify what you mean by who said anything about wanting to end this. What I want to end is Twitter and not by name change. The things that make a person like Musk successful in our system of capitalism are the things that make him psychologically dangerous as regarding the manipulation of public opinion. There should be no profit motive in social media and no individuals who own it. There should be no loud mouthed self possessed egotists who can obtain an outsized voice controlling public opinion. Would you want me having enough power to shut down Twitter, Facebook, and all the rest?

Look what social media has done. It has given voice to every small minded aggrieved person under the sun the opportunity to shit in public on the commons. The motivation of every self hating person is to drag everyone else down. This is the back door path that every psychopath uses to put him or herself out of misery

I remember a dream I had as a teen. I went to the moon and had a wonderful time jumping around in low gravity and taking in the amazing experience and getting back into the ship I came, pushing a button that would return me to earth. When I pushed it nothing happened. What was that fear all about?

-Pay me enough and I'll shovel shit in the Texas heat for 10 hours a day.

That would have to be at minimum a six-figure hourly wage to go to that shithole fascist state and dig ditches in that global warming heat.

Actually if I remember correctly, the CEO has a bit of a right-wing background. If I am remembering right, it's possible she doesn't just make the Kool-Aid, she drinks it too.

Honestly I don't get why he's changing the name, when he could have literally just started twitter from scratch with better code up front and called it X. I guess the point of buying it is to gain the existing userbase. Everyone is trying to make a Twitter alternative right now but most people probably can't name a single one off the top of their head without googling and I doubt any of them will get as popular. Brand recognition is a powerful thing. Except... when you kill it lol.

I kind of like Elon's no BS approach to things but don't always agree with everything he does and this is one of those instances. But it's his site, he can do what he wants with it.

So Musk didn't want Twitter Employees, claimed their software was garbage, the userbase inflated by bots, and now jettisoned the twitter brand.

Exactly what did he pay 44 Billion for?
For 7K posts on tiny little forums like ATF, apparently.

Elon is all bullshit. He's more the bullshit to get money guy than the actual innovators.

so after claiming Elon could have just done it all on his own from the ground up, without Twitter, you trash everyone for being really shitty at trying to do the exact same thing, a dozen times.

Elon needs to check himself into rehab.
I think Im on record in this thread saying this, his best way out of this mess, true or not, is to make a public statement that he is going to rehab for some addiction.
