Made it an easy decision for meI hate those interviews that are games or pseudo psych evals.
And it's no surprise that Apartheid Jack would be that involved.

Makes me glad I avoided SpaceX. I would have crashed and burned. HARD (I was in LA for a couple of years)Made it an easy decision for me
I interviewed with SpaceX in 2009. Part of which was interviewing with him personally, at 8 pm at night, after I had been there since 10 am with nothing to eat. I've interviewed with a lot of engineering management, and he was the most awkward one I've ever talked to. I didn't decline the offer because of Elon, though it was because SpaceX offered a terrible environment, zero life/work balance, and shitty pay (when adjusted for COL) to top it all off. I would've been on the road the majority of the time working 14 hours/day, 7 days a week with no OT setting up launch pads. Everything I saw there was screaming "Don't take this job" and every person I interviewed with besides Elon left within 2 years of me being there.
The guy did create an environment where engineers could be engineers and take major risks, massively pushing the space industry forward. But other than that he is a douche.
Very good pun.Makes me glad I avoided SpaceX. I would have crashed and burned. HARD (I was in LA for a couple of years)
This is fucking lol.
Huntingtons disease? Its fcking weird

Elon Musk, the owner of the app formerly known as Twitter, has said the social media site “may fail”, after a glitch caused pictures posted before December 2014 to be deleted.www.threads.net
You control your index finger, that gives you all the power you need over X and Musk.I mean, there’s a reason 4chan was kept at 4chan… There is depravities in this world that cant be unseen when first seen. And Elon wants to glue your eyeballs to the screen and remove all filters. Yea. No thanks.
What you think the “no thx” means? You control your index finger, that gives you all the power you need over X and Musk.
You prefer Dolby Atmos? What you think the “no thx” means?
Not surprising. 10 years ago a few colleagues told me about being reached out by Tesla recruiters back when they were doing direct hires for large positions. everything you say here is true as it was 4 years later in 2013, but the pay was abysmal too. At the time they topped out at about 400-430 total which was laughable for many of us. Bc was paying us more than that before they had a mass layoff years earlier. Despite this I still had a lot of respect for Elon and what he was doing despite being a south africaner up until him calling a rescue volunteer a paedo. afaik he's chummy with ghislaine maxwell. people in glass houses needn't throw rocks.
Hey look, Musk is getting sued by the DOJ for discrimination just like his buddy Trump was back in the 70's.
The DOJ cited online postings and statements by CEO Musk, as well as other SpaceX executives and recruiters, that allegedly discouraged refugees and those who have been granted asylum from applying for jobs at SpaceX by incorrectly claiming the company can only hire U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents, and alleged that for those who did apply, the company gave them no consideration.
Apparently he and SpaceX kept saying they couldn't hire these folks because of certain weapons and export regulations even though they were repeatedly told that these regulations treat US/permanent residents and non Green Card holders equally.

ITAR is a issue and the federal government regulations around can be confusing and contradictory.
Good discussion on NSF from those that work in the industry and their thoughts on the issue.

Sure some regulations are overly complicated, but not all. And what we do know, is Elon is a piece of shit who would do exactly this. And worse.
Pretty safe to say this was purposeful.
Shotwell runs the day to day operations at SpaceX.
SpaceX is basically begging for talent, they wouldn't turn down a good source of employees unless there was a regulatory reason and ITAR and the complications from it are a very good reason.
Musk and SpaceX have argued that the International Traffic in Arms Regulation and the Export Administration Regulations, two pieces of export control legislation, forbid the company from hiring non-citizens, but the DOJ said those pieces of legislation treat refugees and those who have been granted asylum “just like U.S. citizens,” according to the lawsuit.
The US State Department interprets and enforces ITAR not the DOJ. If this was a official finding from the US government then it should have come from State.
Lots of military companies require US citizens or green card holders only. I'm sure nearly everything at SpaceX is covered by ITAR. Not sure how other companies handle asylum grantees, but I don't recall ever seeing that one the approved list or in my annual training.Hey look, Musk is getting sued by the DOJ for discrimination just like his buddy Trump was back in the 70's.

Seems like every other major tech company managed to avoid this so far. What was Elon's problem?
of all the organizations you could have picked, you chose a government entity. now go think about why your statement is dumb.ITAR doesn't apply to every other tech company. SpaceX is part of the defense industry.
FYI - In order to be a Intern at NASA you must be a US citizen. Is DOJ going to sue NASA now?
Hopefully out of this lawsuit comes a greater clarity on ITAR.
