I wonder. We have supercomputers to run all kinds of simulations. Why hasn't anyone run a simulation to figure out the best tax rate that would ensure a thriving economy to keep the populace happy?

Indeed, but they represent only a small portion of the pie.
Police are a very large proportion of overall government spending if you count state and local.

Basically if you want to cut government spending in a serious way you have these choices:
1) social security
2) Medicare/medicaid
3) education
4) police
5) military

Everything else is small potatoes. Which one are you cutting?

People have this idea that there’s all this government spending sitting around to cut when in reality the government spends the overwhelming majority of expenditures on programs that are ludicrously popular. If you want to cut spending, start cutting social security and Medicare. See how long you last. This is of course why republicans never actually cut spending, people love government spending!

Best tax rate on what?
On anything. The optimal rate that is affordable for everyone and no one balks at paying it. Is it better to have a low flat tax rate on income or property which is deducted from every employed person's salary? I'm not an expert on taxation but maybe a computer simulation may help to figure out the best way to make taxes not look like money out of pocket but as a means of improving your overall standard of living by investing in the government that protects you and provides you more opportunities for a better life.

The real problem is people look at taxes as theft as opposed to paying for the services they use everyday. Like the road coming right up to their driveway, the meat they eat that doesn't have rat meat and human fingers in it, or the jail that is packed full of all the small time criminals and mentally ill.

I take a middle ground between libertarians and normies. Taxes are both theft and they are also not theft. Or to be more precise, it's the spending and not the taxing that may be theft. When taxes are spent for the common good, such as building and supporting infrastructure, providing healthcare, or creating a social safety net, I do not consider that theft, even if taxes are spent incompetently. When taxes go towards nefarious purposes however, like an illegitimate war in Iraq, or are distributed to politically connected special interests, then that's what I consider theft.

You are conflating multiple issues. The younger generation can’t buy homes as easy for two main reasons, one, their pay doesn’t buy them the same things older generations were able to afford, two, the number of holes has not increased at the rate it should (this will naturally take care of itself as the boomer generation dies and more houses are built).

The government doesn’t hold the hand of a private sector worker, so in that sense, they can struggle because someone can ignore taking advantage of even the employer match.

They find that Proposition 13 definitely furthered continuity and stability, because it caused a substantial increase in the average tenure of California households relative to that of households in other states.

It also says the same of renters, and the policy has a dose of “systemic racism”.

Typical liberal tactic, resorting to personal attacks. You know I'm right but don't want to acknowledge it so you attack instead. If there is one thing I have learned in the past 2-3 years is how full of hate liberals are. If you don't agree with their views they will resort to personal attacks and even wish harm on you.
Well he is only telling you what he thinks of you specifically, you on the other hand has stereotyped half the population. I bet you hate main stream media too.

Kanye, is now pulling a Musk, and is buying Parler so he has his own safe space to rant about Jews:

And dream boy is gonna hit reality like a 200mph superbike hits a concrete wall.
He is an entertainer. He is providing entertainment.

Genuine question for the lawyers out there. Kanye pretty clearly is going through some psychological episode right now - are there any laws/regulations/whatever that restrict enforcement of deals on someone not of sound mind?

Also assuming the Twitter deal actually goes through how long until China forces Musk to start censoring opinions it doesn’t like? A year?

IANAL but there absolutely is ways to intervene with anyone suffering from diminished capacity. Hell we have to do it all the time in my business to protect people from themselves... But it's not easy. And with the depth of his pockets it's near impossible.

Several whole minutes at least.
While of course people claiming this is about free speech are lying, it's funny that implicit to their argument is that it's better to be subject to the whims of the Chinese Communist Party than the Woke Libs.

To me the process here is obvious:

1) China says 'we don't like people talking about X'.
2) Musk responds: 'too bad, I am a free speech absolutist'.
3) China says 'ok, well in unrelated news we have to close all Tesla factories in China for the next year or two for safety inspections'.
4) Musk: 'Okay, maybe free speech doesn't include talking about X'.

What does he value more, Tesla or Twitter? I think the answer is pretty clearly Tesla.

Tesla happened to get tax exempt status for model X & S in China shortly after he tweeted his "plan" for Taiwan.
Tesla Model S and Model X vehicles approved for tax exemption in China (teslarati.com)

Just a coincidence, I am sure.

If you don't like government in your face, take your mouth off the tit.

Red has a millstone around his neck.

In the early 1980s, Canada’s productivity was
comparable to the United States. In 2011, Canada’s output
per worker was only 78.3% that of the U.S. Compared to
other countries, Canada also fares badly, with our labour
productivity growth lower than that of top countries for
many decades, hurting our international competitiveness.
