Elsa Gladiac - Un-Seating from AGP Slot

I ordered the Elsa Gladiac from Buy.Com after Christmas and received the card a few days after the new year. Upon opening the static bag I noticed an old seal under the new one (Re-Bag ? ). Anyway, I installed the card in my current system (Epox 7KXA & Athlon 700 Classic)but no post. Re-Seated the card and finally got it up and running. Set up the Nvidia 6.31 drivers and the card ran flawless for about a week. Turned it on the other day...No Post...Turned it off and the back on and were up and running again. I decided to remove the Gladiac and re-install my TNT 2 Ultra which has been a real trooper. I have an Epox 8KTA2 which has that little AGP retainer on it, but I'm waiting on my T-Bird Gigger to show.

Has anyone else had a problem with their AGP cards comming Un-Seated. Is there a way (without the retainer) to keep this from happening?

Stupid question but you used a screw to hold it in right? Never herd of this...

I had similar problems with other PCI (not the AGP) cards because the motherboard was just a touch too shallow in the case. I finally removed the motherboard and placed cardboard "washers" between the standoffs and case to raise it less than 1/32 of an inch. No problems since then. Good luck....

Is it all the way in? AGP is 2 rows of contacts unlike PCI's 1 row
Some boards/AGP slots you have to push very hard to get the card fully down

Thanks for the feedback.

I know AGP's must make full contact in slot and I have pushed on this card as hard as I dare without damaging the MB or the card,and yes I do use a screw to hold the card in place.

Hopefully my Gigger will show soon and the retention clip on the 8KTA2 will fix the problem.

when putting the screw on, you might have shifted it's position...in my old comp..i leave the screww off..had to.. -_-

I read somewhere be careful not to over tighten the screw also try to keep the card level when you seat it so it`s even on the contacts,I`ve not had any problems yet but there is always a first time.

Im having the EXACT same problem with my Gladiac!! It wouldnt post, so I reseated it and it worked, I boot it up the next time, it doesnt work, turn it off, turn it back on it works. Then I put in my TNT2 Ultra, and it works fine, now my Gladiac is in and havent had any problems in a few days.
